These are my new 60# injectors... they are however the none pintle type... (sorry if mispelled) I also required the T-style (EV6) to D-style (EV1) adapter since the 60# injectors used a different type connector than thwe Maruder does stock... (I always say connectors are important)....LOL

Nice. Have you explored popping the pins out of the old connector and swapping to the new one? If the pins are the same (As I would expect), it would be a direct swap. That would look much cleaner and certainly be better electrically with sixteen less connections to worry about.

Keep on cranking,

J

Not sure if thats possible or if I follow u comepletely...

...but I plan to use the connectors now in the hopes that in future I could find some really nice peformance 60# pintle type injectors....
It is my understanding that they use a pin that moves up and down to open and close orfice.... This actions also helps them self clean noozle orfice....
...and should last much longer before changing.....thus helping longevity...

I explored the option of cutting and sodering but then when I got to switch injector type to pintle I may have to cut again to switch back... so I think best approach for now would be to use adapter and remove later when I change injector style again....

anyone have any other thoughts on these?

I've been using the adapters for about 2 years with no problems.

Loco,
This is going to be hard to explain but simple to perform. In your picture of the two connectors on the adapter, each has a "comb" or retainer for the two pins. They are the colored parts - red on one and yellow on the other. You'll find the same thing on the engine harness. It will be a mirror image of the squarer one on the adapter but opposite gender (female pins). Using a pick (Dual 45* angle is preferred, but any will work), poke the comb and pull it outward from the connector. Ya, go ahead, it pops right out. After the comb is removed, you'll be able to see the release tabs for the two pins. It is a little metal tab extending from the pin itself. Using the aforementioned pick or a small paperclip, gently depress the tab against the pin itself while gently tugging on the corresponding wire. After the first is out, do the other. Please pay note to the wiring on the car so as to maintain the proper polarity. I'm not sure it makes a difference but why chance it. Of course you have 7 other examples if you forget!

If the pins on both connectors are exactly the same, simply put the new larger, more rectangular, plastic female connectors on your engine harness and call it a day! Of course, save all the unused pieces in case you change injectors again!

Gosh, I hope that helps! I could have done four of them in the time it took me to type this!

Best luck,

J

Nope I think you explained it pretty well there....
hmmm great idea... I'll have to explore that option...
thanks for the heads up and the time you took to type the explaination...
