And the results are....an increase of 43...yes...43 horsepower and 41 ft/lbs of torque. The final numbers are 323 rwhp and 329 ft/lbs torque. I will post the dyno sheets once I can get my scanner to work better. And the best thing...she growls now...I got to get the new tune tweaked to compensate for the 3000 stall and the 4:10s. Money very well spent.

I might have to endure the security check point and retarded neighbor to see the beast again. As long as the weather holds. Spring is justs around the corner, and so is Capital Raceway.

Great numbers

You must have some internal mods, right?
Forgive me, but those numbers for the mods in your sig are a wee high as compared to the average.
Let us know please

Have you been to the dragstrip yet?

Can you post the dyno graph? I agree with Zack (there's a first!), those numbers just don't match what's in your sig.

Sure will...as soon as I can get this 3 in 1 to behave properly, I will.

Mustang Dyno?

Big House
12-28-2006, 03:02 PM
I don't know the difference? The peak numbers are not really my concern...but the improvement. If the numbers read high, then they are both high, but the delta is the same.

Rich,

You are correct sir and Mike, yes they look good.

I'll buy into the gains, not too sure about the peak numbers though. I saw a consistant .4 sec gain with exhaust and spacers, probably equates to 40ish hp at the wheels.

If you have 323 HP N/A you have the world's record holder on HP for a modded "stock" N/A MM engine. I have been down that road with many other MM owners and no one, but TAF got over 300 HP with spacer, headers, etc. What type of Dyno did you use.

I have no idea. If you want to, look up Dynocom Industries Inc, it is printed on the bottom of the printouts.

Big House
12-28-2006, 06:54 PM
I looked up Dynocom, it states that it is a Chassis Dyno...is that the infamous "Mustang dyno" mentioned? I don't know the difference between the "dyos" out there. The tech tuned my car and turned out the previously published numbers.

What was your tire pressure at?

Smokie
12-28-2006, 07:26 PM
First congratulations on your mods!!! It's true the numbers don't match your mods, it could be something as simple as the dyno operator not factoring in SAE correction factor.

Big House
12-28-2006, 07:31 PM
I would have to say where it always is, about 40psi. DOes that really matter though?

Big House
12-28-2006, 07:32 PM
What is the SAE correction factor?

Big House
12-28-2006, 07:35 PM
Never mind...found the equation...now if knew the factors to write in I would be good.

Smokie
12-28-2006, 07:38 PM
What is the SAE correction factor?

Temperature, altitude and humidity all affect the power output of the engine, in order to be able to compare the readings you get in lets say Chicago in the fall with Miami in the summer information about the parameters above mentioned have to be entered to have numbers that can be significantly compared.

I'ts no different than a car running 12.5 on a 45 degree day running 12.9 on a 90 degree day.:)

Big House
12-28-2006, 07:43 PM
Good point. Again the peak numbers might be high...not an issue, but the gains reported on the same dyno after a couple of hours of tuning and multiple pulls, I think are true. I am not a big numbers person, except the net change and resulting quarter mile time...which in the greatest scheme of things is really not that important. She does sound absolutly beastly though...even brought an ear to ear grin on the wife's face.:D

What was his official numbers being a modded "stock" NA? Because I'd like to see if I could beat them. I've only got a few mods and my dyno was 277 which I think is just a tad lower than it really is since the guys that did my dyno had a heck of a time keeping it from downshifting. The first reading they got was 222rwhp and 324rwtq because I don't have a tune to lock it in 3rd.

Btw the way Big House awesome numbers and I bet she sounds so mean!

Great numbers William!

I'll join merc in looking forward to seeing you run at Capitol this Spring.

Joe,

By that time I will have re-learned my car...right now it is a little different. I have to go back and get the tune adjusted to fix the TQ lock up and the speedo. But I can guarantee that I can spin the wheels from a dead stop now and then some.

Wheel spin will drive you crazy at the track as your consistency will suck with that kind of HP on street radials:

One run....tires hook, she's gone...awesome ET!
Next run...smoked tires, backpedaling the throttle, re-hooking...ET + .5 seconds!...:(

Xrltraven:

I believe Cruizer (Barry), Brian (FordNut) and TAF hit 306 HP or more. You may want to PM Barry and Brian here and Todd on MCM.net. I managed 289 HP, I needed Kooks (had FR Cobra headers & X-pipe) and electric water pump to break 300. Too much money and decided to go SC.

Very few owners got over 300 N/A HP. It was a very difficult barrier to break and required a great deal of money. We all should have just saved our money and gone SC.

How much were the SS headers and how difficult were they to install. Did you need a custom X-pipe. I am not up on these SS headers.

I got over 300 before adding the blower. Sometimes I wish I had just stayed N/A. Horsepower is so damn addictive.

edit... and expensive!

Congrats on the new setup, you'll love it.

Actually Glen your wrong, Barry I believe was the first to break 300 N/A RWHP it sure would be nice to see the dyno sheet and the AF Trace, reguardless I agree this is the highest N/A number I have heard of.

Im curios about your #s as well bc I just recently had 40 series Flows and high flow Magna Flows added and it went from being able to just start to turn the 255/55-18 KDW NT to barley keeping them from roasting with TC off! If any one has any real #s on this type of work it would be appreciated as I dont have that kinda flow to take it to the dyno! Thanx!

Congratulations on your SW exhaust!:toast:

Don't worry about trying to nit pick your numbers. They are real.
Remember, you get what you pay for.:thinker: That certainly is the case with the SW.

Enjoy them buddy! :burn:

$2200 give or take and very well spent. It is the most expensive out there but I think it is of the best quality.
