My last trip to the Dealer was to fix the infamous blinking heated seat switch on the driver’s side.
Everyone who has had this issue with their bun warmers knows the seats will continue to heat when the blinking is occurring.

Unfortunately, the heated seats in my MM warm up rather slowly compared to my ’04 Mountaineer.

After the switch was replaced, the seat seems to heat up a little quicker, and is definitely warmer than with the OEM switch.

Has anyone noticed this, and does it make any sense?

How can replacing a switch cause the seat to warm up a little faster and to a higher temperature?
Thanks,
Mike.

I had to have my switch replaced, I didn't notice any change in temperature. I never paid that much attention though...:P

If the switch is relayed then it shouldn't make a difference. If it carries current though and a beefier switch were installed it might flow more current to the seat warmers.
Do they only do the switch or any relays/wiring too?

I have had both passenger and driver's switches go bad. Each time, only the switch was replaced.
Plug and play,...
I was told there are a lot of these replaced on GM's as well.

I have the blinking light on the heated seat button; but it only affects the "greenish" backlight on the button. It's most noticeable in night/dark conditions. The intermittant blinking has not affected the "yellowish" light that indicates the heating function is activated.
So far, the blinking button has been no more than an annoyance for me 'cause I can't find the button in the dayum dark. ;) I guess that I'll get it fixed someday --- but I keep forgetting to mention it to the service rep. :o

I have an 04 MM and the pass side switch was replaced, but no difference in temp. My seats don't seem to stay hot all that long so i have to turn it off and back on.

Were heated seats optional or standard in 03? Mine is a 300A. I don't think it has heated seats. If it did, where would the switches be located? I haven't owned the car for long and don't know the ins and outs yet.

Heated seats weren't available until the 300B's came out IIRC.
The switch is along side the power seat switch on the door panel.
The blinking switch thing has reared its head on mine & they need to be replaced.
