Hi Hack. It looks like it might be mostly unfortunate timing. From this http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/showthread.php?goto=newpost&t=32925
It appears there is just some re-organisation going on. But obviously if that doesn't fit with what you as a MIer want, tell the Admins.

You and I are good friends. And you seem to be the front man, so I don't want to be unfair to you. But, this action will change things forever. I hope the management of both sites get this fixed by the end of this week. As a vendor, I consider this unreasonable, given the actions I see perpetuated by other members.

It can't be about the people without it being about the car, and vice versa.
But at some point the people do become more important.
For most of us it was the Marauder that brought us here. Over time we get to know each other, make friends, and it becomes about the people.
Like all friends we end up having the odd friendly disagreement or debate/squabble. Most us get over it, shake hands and carry on.
A very few others never do, unfortunately.
We've shared a lot here, and way beyond what we've done with our 'car'

I'm with Paul on this one guys. Why alienate everyone from Michigan when when some of them have been close friends over the years and members of the 'Picinic Club'. Why not just change the name from the MCM Forum to the 'Michigan Forum' or 'Go Blue Forum', since they were one of the orignal forums on this site.
Now that makes sense and would have been the right thing to do.

For anyone who disagrees, remember that we visit here by choice. If you dont like it, dont come here.
Would you talk like this to your boss if you felt your job might be in jeopardy because of it?
Everyone, including myself gets mouthy and out of line because in reality, we have nothing to lose. If we get kicked off does that mean we will lose all of the friends we have made here? Uh, no.
If anyone wants any kind of meaningful clarification as to why things were done, log into the MCM and read some of the eloquent posts written BEFORE the members in question were let go.
Brace yourself though, a lot of the derragotory comments are coming from members over here who dress up in sheeps clothing when they log in.

It is about the car. If it was about the people, I’d go to the local pub with my buddies and give the batteries on my laptop a break.
There is no such thing as a website “turning” national. All websites are International, hence the term World Wide Web.
As for competition, it doesn’t matter how many sites are dedicated to the car, hell there must be more than a dozen highly regarded Mustang websites and as far as I know, every one of them link to each other and mostly by users sharing information so that nobody is left out of the information loop.

+1.
I think some feel there was unbiased moderation in the past. So to make up for 3 or 4 years of it, the tables turned on those who are percieved to be instagators. In truth, they are passionate about this Marauder hobby. Just like the other guys on the "other side" of the fence.
Telling them to give up being a Moderator on a web site about the same car is wrong. Search the members list, you will find other site owners and moderators here.
Recently I was told to "use my police insticts to see where the BS is". I have and my gut tells me "old scores" are being settled up. Sorry bud, thats what I see.
Whats better than one web site for our great car? Two web sites for our great car! Love them or hate them, MCM.com is here. They are making progress. With new vendors willing to look at our car and make products available, we the members of these sites win.
The Admins on both sites should work to keep our attention so we spend our money with their vendors. Instead of pushing "certian" members away. Then again, in the end, maybe that is the goal.

You already have your own website. (MCM)
You can do what YOU want on that site, right ?
Everyone in MI that has a Marauder is a member of that site, right ?
WHY must you have the same thing here ?
It doesn't matter here how long you have been here.
THERE ARE NO SENIORITY RIGHTS HERE...
MM.net is a NATIONAL site. Don't you get it ?
It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see this.
And just because 30 - 40% of all Marauders are registered in MI
doesn't bestow any special privileges to anyone here either.
After all, it was a TEXAN who started MM.net, wasn't it ?

This whole thing can be summed up easily:
A select group of people ruled the sandbox out on the playground. They banded together, gave wedgies to people that did not wear the same undies as they did, or liked the same flavor of ice cream, and chose them last to be on the kick ball team! They wanted all the lunch money to be spent at only one variety store. If you did not purchase the flavor of ice cream pushed on you, your reputation was soon trashed, and you were forced to constantly defend your purchase.
For years this happened.
Then the playground was sold. The kick ball team playing field was leveled. The group of "usual suspects" don't like playing by the rules that don't give them an edge so they headed off to another sandbox. From that sandbox they constantly lob rocks to break apart the old sandbox. The new owners, now forced to defend themselves against the "usual suspects", like I have been doing for years now since I chose a different ice cream flavor, have now taken steps to protect thier sandbox.
After all this time, shouldn't we all just get along and happily play in the sandbox of our choice?

The group of "usual suspects" don't like playing by the rules that don't give them an edge so they headed off to another sandbox. From that sandbox they constantly lob rocks to break apart the old sandbox. The new owners, now forced to defend themselves against the "usual suspects", like I have been doing for years now since I chose a different ice cream flavor, have now taken steps to protect thier sandbox.
After all this time, shouldn't we all just get along and happily play in the sandbox of our choice?
I'm going to disagree with you on this ,T. I had a fantastic experience shopping for my "flavor". I got support from ALL ends and was encouraged to just pick a 'flavor" and enjoy it!
I originally chose a different 'flavor" but got a deal on another before I took the big bite.
Either way I would have fully supported and welcome, even if I took a little ribbing or some friendly na-na-na-na hoo-hoo's from those who prefer the other "flavors".
I believe that some wear their "flavor" on their sleeve and perceive a "flavor war" when there is simply none there.
We all know it's better to taste then to go bland, pick a "flavor" and enjoy. It's fun!
And none of us should be hyper sensitive cuz we like flavor X, Y or Z! Or T or R.....

I didn't want to chime in on this, but I can't let it go either.
Hack,
YOU need to make a decision.
Either you are one of us or you are not.
Maybe your boss knows something we don't..... :poke:
You are so far off that you still think Pluto is a planet.
Why can't Hack be a member here and over at MCM like other people? MM.net is a national site, actually it is an international site with members as far away as Saudi Arabia. The Michigan forum has existed almost from the begining, why can it not continue as such.
How about an experiment with the new owners. Hack is freinds with all of you, so why don't you bring back the new 'Michigan Forum' and make Hack the first non-owner moderator of the forum.

I'm going to disagree with you on this ,T.
It's okay if we both have our opinions.
Just start going back over the years and research all the closed supercharger threads. You will see all the same names over and over again. I'm in there quite a bit myself as I do not mind defending myself and what's under my hood. Thats where I'm coming from.
I have my thoughts, you have yours, no problem.

Well, if we have to choose which site we want to be part of we need to know what the choice is. Can someone give me a clear, unemotional, differential analysis of MM.NET? I need to know if there are other sites that I can't be a member of. Is there a creed I need to accept. Do I have to wear a special hat? If I choose MM.NET and Paul chooses MCM.COM am I required to spit at him? What flavor is the MM.NET Kool-Aid?
I can't make a rational decision without the facts.

There are NO rules involving membership in other websites, please enjoy all websites that are out there, whether they are MM related or not.
HOWEVER, if you happen to own or moderate a website that is in direct competiton for members and vendors with this one, we feel it is a conflict of interest to be a member here. We as owners do not belong as members to any competing site. We are free to visit any website we wish just not have a membership there. Example--one of the owners recently had himself removed as a member on a competing website.
As far as I can tell, mustang sites and other car sites do not allow membership drives or advertising for competing sites, so this is not a new innovation.
Enough of the BS now. If you have questions regarding forums, ask them here
