Ok --you crazy Carolina Marauder Members--This is it--A Poll--

Seems we have several new folks looking in and wanting to join up with our meets---OK --here we go--

*First off -We meet the second Saturday of each month--Normally at noon-
_
the 13th this month_

* Although we have been meeting in Charlotte by the Motor Speedway- lets Poll everyone for this month due to several members having the itch to move the location-I hear ROAD TRIP--VArooommm!!! Sorry Lets get back on topic-

* OK --this poll is different--everyone post up there preference on location-
( keep in mind--a several hour/s drive by others is time(x) 2 to go and
return back home for a luncheon and discussion---)

* OK- with that in mind-post how far you's be willing to go this month--maybe in hours--and state where this would put you(location for meet).

* If staying in your town--so be it--just answer above and it will say it all-

* Of course we can't have everyone -- (the state is over 500 miles WIDE--THANKYOU--info those not knowledgeable--cough--cough--)

Hey--yeah--we know Feb we can do it again and go elsewhere--but lets get JAn --determined--

OK--Lets get started and see where this takes us---

I suppose the area with the most wanting to show up would be the place-----My first thoughts anyway--lets see--

Oh--BTW--HI everyone --Happy New Year and welcome all new car crazies --I vote for where its good weather on the 13th--Yeah!!!
OH Hi dear!!--Ms. M just came into the room--time to go---:lol:....Tom

I'm in charlotte and I'd be willing to drive an hour out for lunch.

Hey guys,
An hour to an hour and a half is ok with me. Ashville is too far but Greensboro would be ok.

fastblackmerc
01-04-2007, 08:16 PM
I'll do 1.5 hours one way..... that includes:
Greensboro
Asheboro
Sanford
Pinehurst
Rockingham
Lexington (Bar-B-Que).

96DiamondVIII
01-04-2007, 09:27 PM
I'd like to keep it to less than 2 hours each way. That makes my list of places look very similar to fastblackmerc's list. Greensboro is a logical choice b/c it's almost the halfway point between the Triangle and the Charlotte area, but there are many options that aren't just Interstate driving...

Marauderman

OK--So far:

* 96DiamondVIII--2 hrs
* fastblackmerc --1 1/2 hrs
* jarchie --1 1/2 hrs
* yonirkinshtin -- 1 hr

....and it appears the Greensboro area or centeral area appears favorable---or a 1 1/2 hr drive----so ..anyone hear from Butch ---he is in G'boro?

OK-lets hear from some more--- I would think SC Cheesehead is out for G'boro as being too far as well as prchrman from the mountains and SteveNC from the coast----my thoughts anyway----

OK --where is everyone else?---we're waiting to hear from you--------

I'd prefer to keep meetings within a 2 hour drive, so the Charlotte area works good for me; although I won't mind a run now and then to Greensboro or Rockingham.

As for meeting locations, I'm up for hosting a pool party again this year. Just name the month.

I'm not sure if I will be around on the 13th. A friend of mine is having a B-Day party that day, and I may be doing a roadtrip to see them.

Maybe in Feb., I can host something....

Hey--Host the partry for him there--we will come and par-take and party with you----we seldom come your way--maybe a ride to the ROCK would be better---hummmm--don't know--be nice to check the Rock area out before having to this spring......

Hey Folks--Its great to see so many of you responding--Lets see --where are we --seems 2 hrs is max --1 hour is preferred...well I think for me that put it either Greensboro or Rockingham---Wonder --is the Rock open for visitors --or could we stop by and drop in to "take a look"---what do you all think is becoming the favorite--too earily to say or not--at the moment I kinda prefer the Rock--although I don't know anything about the place nor where on the list by fastblack is the best place to go for food--------------anyone got some thoughts--speak up--Its this coming weekend----Tom

Get someone to switch with you---

As for the rest--maybe we should start placing preferences---make it two choices--that narrows it easier for us all to pick--hopefully this sounds ok with all........

Ok--I pick either Greensboro or Rockingham ......

Dear Tom and Carolina Marauders,

I would choose Rockingham.
I just spoke with a lady friend who lives there :cool:
and she tells me the best spots are Fatz Cafe (http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&q=fatz+cafe+rockingham,+nc) and Bella Italy (http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&q=bella+Italy+rockingham,+nc).
I'm leaning way towards Fatz because I'll have Jason with me. :baaa:

Thanks,
Steve Cory

SO I guess we have 3 for the Rock----anyone else????????????

TC's Hard Cider Sirloin
We marinate a thick, juicy 8 oz. sirloin for 48 hours in a secret combination of juices and spices with a touch of apple cider. Garnished with sautéed mushrooms and served with your choice of side item and a soup or salad (Veggie, Caesar or House). :P

Southern Gold BBQ Ribs
Our tender, fall-off-the-bone babyback pork ribs basted with a tangy Carolina-style golden BBQ sauce. Served with your choice of side. Half Rack and Full Rack. :rolleyes:

Teriyaki Salmon
Fresh salmon, char-grilled and brushed with our teriyaki glaze for a great flavor. Served on a bed of garden blend rice with a side of grilled veggie skewers. :)

New York Strip
Our best steak! We lightly season a juicy 12oz. New York strip and grill it to perfection. Topped with our herb garlic butter for a great flavor. Garnished with sautéed mushrooms and served with your choice of side item and a soup or salad (Veggie, Caesar or House). :coolman:

See you there at Noon!

OK folks---It more of where do we meet??? -cause we --well I am heading to the track afterwards--so hope others will follow--cause I need to find out how my MM is running--Man--I gotta get my tires down from the attic and put them in the trunk to take ---shucks-I sure wish I had some friend/s come with me so I can leave my street tires in the pits for a security watch so I wouldn't have to run the track with them in the trunk....well see--

Sorry i missed you guys. I know that was a blast. Congrats on your performance Tom. I wasn't working at the shop this time, My sister and I hosted a family reunion in Hilton Head and I was covered up with preparations and such.
I like Rockingham and have run there a few times. I'd be up for another coordinated event there sometime. In the meantime don't forget about Jefferson-Pageland Dragstrip off 601 near Monroe. They test and tune every Friday night and it's a good way to blow off steam after a busy week. Nothing like dusting a Neon SRT-4 or new Charger to get that feeling of accomplishment for the week. However, it's humbling to have your hat handed to you by a 7-second rail buggy driven by "Barb Wire".
