I have come across a small selection of after market rims that are 8" wide with a +38mm offset. I think these will fit our 2003 and up Marauder/Crown Vic/Marquis fine, but I want to check and see if anyone here has put this size tire on their car and if there were any issues. Most of the rims are 18" but one or two of them are 16".
I will post images of the rims later, my dialup connection is really slow tonight :(

I looked at some aftermarket rims that were +35 and didn't like how they fit on my MM at all. My aftermarket rims are +49 with the rear pair widened.
But then I am pretty anal about keeping everything stuffed up under the car.

AzMarauder,
Which rims did you get for your ride?
Do you have any pictures?

I used the ROH Drift R wheels.
Two threads where I discussed them...

If you pm me your email with specific questions... I can dig through my photos and send you higher res images of these if you like.
FWIW I had my rear rims widened by Weldcraft and they did a great job.

one thing you might consider with any wheel is how it is made, forged or cast, and where it is made. Many are done in china these days, and I understand there have been problems with strength and quality.

As long as the rim is 8" like stock, you can figure how much they'll move.
Stock offset is +50, so if you go with a +38, the wheel will move OUT 12mm or roughly 1/2" (25,4mm/in).
I would suggest no more than 5mm offset change in from (+45) and no more than 10 (+40) rear. Otherwise, they'll stick out considerably and your next post will be complaining about rocker panel damage!!!!

Actually, a 38mm offset works great. 18x8 in the front and 18x9's in the rear. Both +38mm. No rubbing and she's dropped.

Grifter,
AmericanMuscle.com (the retailer) calls it "Venom", Verde (the manufacture) calls it "5ive". AmericanMuscle does not stock it in the 17*8, 18*8 with a +38mm offset it would need to be special ordered.

Big House,
Thanks for the info.
I was pretty sure that someone on this site had put 18*8 with a +38mm on their Marauder. But I wanted to be sure.
Thanks again,

Okay I came across this sweet rim on AmericanRacing.com their description says it will fit our Marauders, but I have my doubts because they have it listed as 19x8.5 with a +35mm offset. I emailed them and they said:
"The offsets are slightly different, however the wheels have been test fitted on the application and they fit just fine. The new offset will have the clearance from stut housing to the inside of the wheel will be 9mm MORE and the outside edge of the wheel will EXTEND an extra 21mm further than where it sits right now"
I'm thinking it is going to push the outside lip out past the fender.
What do you guys think?

Can you order them through a local business that will guarantee fitment?
Then if you don't like how it looks, you don't have to buy it?

21mm further out will look badass on the rear, but the from will stick out almost an inch from stock. That'll put the rim lip about 1/2" past the fender!!!!

Bigdogjim,
If the rims are already an 18*8.5 with a +50mm offset why did you use a 1/4" spacer???

Same offset means they moved IN about 1/4" and OUT about 1/4". A 1/4" spacer would put the entire 1/2" wider towards OUT.

Is it only me who likes the stock wheels so much? Some of the aftermarket wheels look alright but the stockers are fabulous. It isn't often that a car comes out of the factory with such gorgeous wheels.

Oh yeah, They're pretty. Some folks are just into aftermarket wheels or art or upsizing or all of the above!
I see a car, even when beautiful in stock form, as a blank canvas!!!!

The 18 x 10 Bullitt Deep Dish Mustang wheels fit on the MM. I have them on the rear of my car. They may stick out 1/4", but are great for my 305s DR. The cost is very reasonable.

The stock wheels are nice... but for me... the chrome is so "light" that they almost have a cheap plastic look to them. IMHO that is...

That's because they're not chrome. They're polished and clear coated.
I've seem a set of MM wheels in chrome and it's a day/night difference.

I have thought about something like this. Actually running 20" all the way around with the QA1 coil over setup to drop the car. I have thought about a set of Asanti 136 (I think is the model number). I think they would look OK, but would require a pretty short sidewall.
My reservations:
1) I really do like the look of the stock/wheel tire setup and think they are perfect for the car
2) Not sure I would like the low profile tire look on the Marauder
Plus's of the bigger setup:
1) Can fit more tire in there
2) Can fit bigger brakes - say TCE Plus 2 setup
3) Tires are cheaper for 20" wheels than 19" wheels

Good point...
It is possible to Chrome MM wheels? I might have to look into that some day when I have some money laying around that isn't headed to one of my projects!

Exactly why I went 18 and 20. 45 series sidewall was as low as I wanted to go for ride quality considerations.
