How much should I expect to replace the tranny in my Marauder? How much is a good rebuild vs. a bullet proof rebuild? What are some good places I should look into?
Is there anything I can do to pro-long the life of my tranny? It's beginning to slip a little bit and feels like it's going to let go soon....

I would find a good 4R70W mech and have him install the Art car kit and at the same time the rear engine cooling, the kit is 500.00 the rear cooling kit 175.00 and you should pay about 700.00 labor for the rebuild

You did not say how may miles are on your MM.
Looks like you purchased your MM used.
If your trans feels like it is slipping, it probably is.
Most people will change their car's engine oil regulary but never change their transmission fluid. I doubt if yours was changed unless you know otherwise.
Have your transmission fluid pumped out.
Do this as soon as possible to minimize the chance of damage during start-up or a hard shift. Do this soon, as you do not want to pay for a new transmission job.

Is it slipping when accelerating from stop? In 2nd gear? In OD?
The first and third choices are definite signs of trouble, but the 2nd choice may not be. My '03 300B
with CRD1 PCM code has what feels like slippage in 2nd, but it's actually the combination of the high-stall
torque converter, and factory PCM programming that doesn't apply full lockup pressure to the converter
in 2nd gear. It's a bit annoying, but I've learned to live with it. Eventually I'll fix it with an XCal2. Seems
like all the aftermarket tunes change this lockup behavior.

I keep a 03 and 04 in stock now with the Art car and the updates installed 1495.00 plus shipping and I need your core back, or you can buy the Art Car kit for 500.00 and expect to pay about 600 in labor, now would be the time to do the rear cooling kit and upgrade the converter if I can help give me a call.

And it's worth every freakin penny.

Have your transmission fluid pumped out. ^^^what he said^^^
Start with the simple and inexpensive things first. If that doesn't do it, then you are only out a few dollars and an hour of your time, but then you know there's something further wrong.
