After much soul searching, I've decided to sell my car. I've retired, bought a motorhome, and want something sporty, but light weight to tow behind it. If it sells, I'm going to buy a "rice grinder" ---- a Honda S2000 :banana2: .

Good luck in whatever you choose. Honda makes a good car nonetheless.:)

good luck selling your DTR and in your retirement........consider a Saturn Sky or Pontiac Solstice rather than a Honda.

The motorhome is a 2000 Itasca Suncruiser 35U on a Ford V10 chassis. Quite pleased with it so far after doing a month long trip from Minnesota to Utah and back. We dragged a Ford Explorer behind it, and that slowed us down some going over the mountains.

Nice unit. Make lots of good use of it.
that suggestion of a Pontiac Solstice as a pull behind isn't bad.

The S2000 is a hell of a car. Enjoy :)

Get a Miata as a tow car. S2000's are too expensive to tote. Or maybe a DTR Marauder - they're suh-weet!!!!

LOL, I actually traded my Spa Yellow S2000 for my Marauder back in Feb. of '06. I miss it from time to time, but the main reason I traded it was because of size. I drove it as a daily for 1.5 years and had to get out of such a small car. The S2000 is a true drivers car!

Solstice GXP or Sky Redline. Mmmm, forced induction...:)
The S2000's are actually really nice too...just gutless down low...

Man, that motorhome has a V10? That just cries out for a s/c, dual exhaust, magnaflows, headers.... should I go on? ;)

I would consider the Pontiac with the turbo (the Saturn front end is ugly) but nobody makes a base plate for attaching a tow bar to it.

Just so you know, Neither the Pontiac and the Saturn convertibles have a spare tire.

The newer ones (2004 and later) have a larger displacement engine that's been retuned and re-geared for more low end torque. The ones I drove weren't bad at all. They were actually less fussy than my old 435 hp Vette getting moving from a stop. The Vette is handicapped with a 3:36 rear axle and a 2:20 first gear, however. Once the old Vette makes it to 3500 rpm, the story is different  !!

If the S2K is like most Hondas, it's a good choice since most hondas are flat towable without clicking up on the odo.
I thought I heard Saturns had this property as well.
Enjoy your travels and be careful out there. I'm sure your MM will find a good home.

Sounds like you may already be thinking this way. :(
A friend just got a Pontiac G6 GT convertible in pearl white. Very nice and sporty looking with the hard top up or down. I think it has a 3.5 liter engine in the one that he picked up. :D

enjoy your retirement. we need some more snowbirds down here in God's country. come on down. bring some of that Minnesota money and spend it in Texas. That'll make you a good yankee!
I think Winnebago bought Itasca about 20 years ago, so it ought to be a good vehicle. S2000 is a great car--even if it is a rice burner!
your DTR looks like a twin to mine. it will be a cold day in hades when it's on the market for $17K. it's a Texas car though. with all that salt on the roads up there, the cars sometimes have fenders that flap in the breeze after a few years.

Actually, the thought of a low-boost turbo (5-7 psi) has crossed my mind. Does anyone make a kit for a V10?

Nor does Porche and Corvett's to name a few.
