Hey guys - newbie here!!

I thought I saw where someone mentioned a dead pedal for the Marauder -

I haven't quite figured out where to go for search yet (I clicked on the Search link in "Site Features" on the left column and hit go - but it just sent me back to forums...

As the proud owner of a new CV Sport - I would be interested in more info on the dead pedal mod...

Thanks

Check here (http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=306&highlight=dead+pedal) for info.

The "dead pedal" was the first question I had when I joined this forum. ;) Everyone has been really cool about answering my newb questions.

Thanks guys, that's what I am looking for....

It looks like it sticks up aways though.....

Anything lower than that??? I would like to have some room to stretch on long trips - my commute is 62 miles each way...

For some reason, the CV floorboard has got too many bumps for me to find a comfortable place to get situated...

I customized mine and moved the mounting holes about an inch closer to the floor. A fairly easy mod, I posted "how to" quite some time ago. Basically, it's a 2-piece kit consisting of the pedal and a bracket. The bracket mounts under the kick panel. I moved the mounting holes on the bracket by drilling two holes and spot welding two nuts to it.

I have the Kenny Brown dead pedal in the stock position and love it. I'm 6'3" and sit back from the steering wheel. So for me the stock position was good. I adjusted the brake/gas pedal so that I sit nice and squarely in the seat.

I do have enough room to stretch my leg out, however it is such a comfortable position I usually have my foot on the dead pedal. For me it sit's in a natural position. When I first installed it and got it, my foot rested on it naturally.

The other benefit, it definitely helps keeping my backside planted in the seat when cornering.

You could mount it and do not put in the kick panel on until you find out if you need to move the position. That way you don't have a bunch of holes in your kick panel.

Good idea with the test mounting. I ended up buying a new kick panel because I did the full install first then decided I wanted to move it. Didn't like the extra holes so I just replaced the panel.

Here is another option that I am looking at. Dead Pedal (http://www.crownvic.net/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=UBB2&Number=126997&Forum=UBB2&Words=dead%20pedal&Match=Entire%20Phrase&Searchpage=2&Limit=25&Old=1year&Main=126997&Search=true#Post126997) from CrownVic.net

This is a very simple design with no drilling required.

It's always good to have options!

Fordnut's mod works great. My big dog drops right onto the pedal when I climb aboard the MM.

Thanks again, 'nut!

I've got one too. I thought it was too high at first, but have gotten used to it. Had to readjust my parking brake to engage before it hits the bracket. It would be nice to have it a little farther back (I don't have power pedals). But I do like having it!
