.54 without a power adder. I used Autolites with that gap setting on my N/A Marauder.

I think merc means .054 or 54 thousandths of an inch.

Bear in mind it's for the '03 GM, so SOHC 4.6. I think gaps are the same but perhaps someone can confirm?

Edit: Just checked yes .054"

Osvaldo, the correct gap for your motor is, as stated above, .054" (1.37mm).

If I may make a comment concerning your use of cooler plugs and a cooler thermostat: cooler plugs and thermostats do not provide any performance benefit by themselves. Absent a tune which can take advantage of their use, you run the risk of incomplete combustion, lower fuel economy, and increased engine wear.

Get the tuner from Lidio or Reinhart. I used Reinhart. Carefully list what you've done to the car and his tune inside the XCal2 you receive will be appropriate for your modifications.

Oz,
Remember that price is not always the only issue. Be sure to use a sight vendor so you receive the best tune for your car. Other vendors, though cheaper likely will not provide the tuning you need for our particular heavy cars.
Good luck,
Rich

^^^what magindat said^^^

You beat me to it, Rich.

stryker, by all means get the XCal2 from either Dennis or Lidio...even if the cost may be higher than a local supplier, you won't find anyone who knows more about tuning the 2V and 4V versions of this motor.
