Hey guys. I finally ordered my Kenwood head unit and a nav system. I also ordered an xm unit and speakers and since i'm installing all this stuff i wanted to buy a TV Tuner for my head unit. It is completely unnecessary but since most of the car is going to be apart might as well. I found one on ebay which i like...the antennas go on the inside rear window....so there arent any ugly antennas outside. I just wanted to know if anyone has any experience with these not necessarily in a MM but in general and if they are good. If you can actually see something and not just garbled TV like you see when you hook up a TV in your house to a little rabbit ears antenna. Any help would be greatly appreciated. THANKS. -Shawn

I don't have the TV tuner on my Kenwood. It's only as good as the signal in your area. IMO, it's not worth it. Which Kenwood did you get? I have the DDX7015 w/the Nav and Sirius satellite module. I don't think Kenwood is XM compatible unless it's an add on unit.

From an installer standpoint. You will get crappy reception on the rear window. Defroster lines and window tint will create havoc. Here's a better and invisible way to install the antennas; run them down the A pillars and above the headliner on the windshield. TV antennas DO NOT need to be visible to work. Hiding them behind a headliner or plastic trim works better than anything. Expect decent reception and pretty much everything you ever had when your own TV had antennas on it.

+1 some systems say if you mount the antenna between the defrosther grids that it will till work good, BS. It never does.
