X682110 has headed for the Garage in the sky.
Without going into too much detail, I was involved in an accident last Sunday, after the Houston lunch meet. I was traveling alone, headed home, and on the feeder road, the rear of the Marauder got fishy on me and I lost control, making contact with a concrete construction barrier, three times. The driver and passenger bags deployed, as well as the driver side impact bag.
The car gave herself to save my life. I walked with minor burns from the Airbags, thats it. Over two years of ownership and 10,847 Miles of pleasure, and it ends in 10 seconds. I have been reassured that the car will not see the road again, someone out there is gonna end up with a nice, low mileage engine and transmission.
I found out Friday, that she's a total loss, over 18K in damage. Every panel except the roof and trunk is damaged, all four wheels, rear axle, etc are all hosed.
I have been low key on the whole issue for obvious reasons, but I wanted to let everyone know, that I am ok, and the Garage Queen is not.
In any case, heres the car:

Thank you to everyone with your PMs and E-Mails. Astrovic posted about the wreck the day it occured, but I wanted to keep it quiet until things died down.
Thanks to SD210SA and The Big Stu for coming back around and giving me a ride home. It's greatly appreciated.

glad you are okay!
the whole car is a wreck? from the 2 pics, it looks like just the front end...
what made the rear go squirrley?

That is one of the saddest things that my eyes have seen in awhile. I cannot believe she's totalled. Buy her back with a salvage title and fix it. Those body panels are inexpensive and I assure you that the Marauder community WILL help to put her back on the road. Remember - only 980 DTR's were made.

The car is a total loss, if you look at the pics, the rear axle is moved over about 4-5" to the driver side.

Thanks but no thanks. Its too painful to try to rebuild it, or part it out like people suggested. Both rear quarters have to be replaced, along with the entire rear axle/drivetrain/suspension, not to mention everything else. She looks MUCH worse in person.

Sorry to see that, but the important thing is you are ok. I hope the insurance company will take into account the rarity of the car.

It looks like the air suspension is trying to level the car. That's all.

I assure you, the axle is hosed. I thought the same thing as you until I heard the right side wheel is grinding into the frame.

Really sorry to hear the news, glad you're ok.
I've seen a whole lot worse than that get fixed, look for it to show up with a salvage title on ebay in a few months.
Did it have heated seats? I'm still looking for some door panels.

Thanks. No heated seats, sorry. The cars gone already, I released it last week. I certainly don't hope to see it on ebay, but if it does, I hope someone gives it a good home.
Really sorry to hear the news, glad you're ok.

I can't believe I am seeing and hearing this.
I'm very sorry to hear about it Wes...What a shame. It's a great thing you were in a large car. Us MMers "Play" in large cars just in case something were to go wrong, we could be spared. I'm glad to here you walked away from it.

 Here in Puerto Rico most of the Fatal crashes are from small cars specially the so called "sport compact" ones due to speed which they're will survive if they we're in a big car many people like small cars looking for gas economy, more agile to move in traffic or for parking but they forgetthe security in an accident.

 OK all Marauderers specially you WESCHAIN Mang. Let's see this from a positive side of view
1- The Panther sacrifice to save you and keep you safe & alive.
2-Life is one after is losted there's no break to be back.
3-No one else was hurt.
4-You can adopt other Panther abandoned by a miserable in a car dealer
5- You're here with us telling your experience.
And Sorry for that terrible lost I saw the pic of your Panther when it was in envyable shape/condition and if that was happened to me I was still criyng but S:censor: t happens.

I could not believe it when I saw it, I am just glad you were OK and I could be there to lend a hand. For anyone who thinks the pics don't look "that bad," I saw it in person...a couple times. It almost made me cry just to look at it...imagine how Wes must have been feeling. Hope to see you in another one soon Wes, either way, I hope you don't part from our community.

Let me join the others in saying we are all glad that you are okay! So sorry about the MM, she did what she was designed to do and that was to protect you. Hope you will be able to find something that gives you the same pleasure as the MM did.
Sorry to hear Wes, really a shame.
Please let us know where the car ends up for the parts.

I just wish there was more I could have done....Important thing is that you are ok.....
I too saw the car in person and it was much worse than the pictures show....the tow truck that it was originally on could not tow it...they had to call another to tow it....but I dont know if that happened as I was forced to leave due to no room to sit on the two lane feeder road.

I'll just repeat what everyone has basically already said ... sorry for what happened, but most importantly you are ok. It's extra painful for me to look at the DTR's when this sort of thing happens, it's like looking at my own car.
Hopefully you can find another & get back in the saddle again.
