after owning the car for 3 1/2 years I finally took out the trunk organizer because I had to load some things into the trunk. There was a noticable bump in the liner I lifted it up and found this

It must have been a monday and the workers were too hungover to remember where they put the fuel door, so they got another.


So I'm thinking I have the only marauder issued by Ford with 2 fuel doors.

Look for it soon on Ebay right next to other priceless items like Hitlers pencil box sold to me by a traveling salesman and mussolini's underwear. (he swore it was theirs)

I'm not so sure you should be happy about finding the gas door, makes me wonder what damage your car may have had.

Notice around the bolt holes where you can see that it was previously mounted to the car. I would guess that these gas doors are bolted to the car before it gets painted so what happened to your car that they needed to remove the door after the car was painted?

I would look around the quarter panel for any signs of a repair or repaint. Possibly could be from the dealer repairing shipping damage to the car.

I got this one in june 2002, only owner, I was there when it came off the truck at the dealership, no damage or repair. there is a small ding near the edge, maybe quality control caught it, who knows. I attributed the ding to the trunk organizer maybe it wasn't.


I looked underneath and only 1 gas tank:D
