I'm pretty sure I'll have to adjust something other than correct my speedo.
I'm going to be running 235/70SR16 on the front and 255/70SR16 on the rear.

Or does anyone really not do any adjustments to shift points, etc etc during their winter months setup?

I don't do anything at all to the tune in the winter. Curious, why such wide meats for the snow? I'm only running 215s front and rear and they cut through the snow with ease. With the really deep stuff we get here, wide tires would just "plow".

Because here in MD don't get that much snow and I don't like having such skinny tires on my MM, I had 225's on my Focus lol. I know with a skinny it is it will just cut right through the snow but I had some 215's and 225's on rims and I put them on and I just didn't like how it felt.

Set the revs per mile to 693.7 How did you figure that up Dennis?

Snow tires are not like all season tires at all. Having 70 series super tall, super wide tires is going to be like driving on a sponge. I would leave all season tires on before I did that. This is a car, not a monster truck!

Come on up and take mine for a spin, it's fun.
I keep 36 psi to firm things up. It is "spongy" compared to the OEM setup, but this is WINTER driving. We're not trying to set land speed records, or corner like on rails. The object is to be able to navigate through the snow with a little more sure footedness.
I am putting almost 1,000 mile per week on my Marauder with a like set-up. No issues, except when the roads are 10* F, the tires like to slip a bit on hard take-offs and stiff shifts.
Oh, might want to lower the shift pressure for the winter. It's pretty easy to get sideways on that 1-2 shift if it's really cold, snowy or icy....

Trust me, in snow drifts that come up to the bottom of the doors, or pure icy intersections, I'll take the 215-70 series snow tires over all seasons any day. I had all seasons on my CVLX and they plain SUCKED in the snow. Period. The Marauder with snow tires is much better. Here's a pic of the rears, they're not that bad:

I've been through intersections where FWD cars with all season tires were spinning like crazy trying to get traction, and the Marauder just went.

215 vs 255 snow tires is a whole different story, I didn't say correctly sized snow tires was a bad idea, it's not.

I just got my winter tires on which the rears are 255/70-16 and every speedo calculator I have come across has given me a different rev per mile.
Tirerack.com - 682 Revs
Another website - said to take 20,800 divide it by the overall diameter of the tire which is 30.20 and I got 689 Revs
miata.net - 671 Revs I normally use this site for their java enabled visual program calculator http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html
1010tires.net - 692.1 Revs
Dennis, I see you said 693.7, my xcal 2 only allows increments of 5 so should I set it to 690 or 695? I got it on 690 already but I just want to make sure which is going to get me in less trouble because I'd like to not be pulled over when I think I'm doing the speed limit and I'm doing 2-3mph over lol. Any ideas or insight would be great.

I set my speedo to 690 revs per mile and I can tell that it is way off. My torque converter is set up lock up at 55mph per the tune and now it locks up when the speedo reads 60mph. Weird thing is that when I am going 60 mph it feels like I am cause I was passing people so now I am really confused.
