I have posted this too late. I should have had the foresight to do this a earlier and save myself (maybe) some hassle.

I brought my car to MD from NC. MD doesn't like my SilverStars. Say they are 'blue'. So I swap them back to the stock bulbs. Fogs too.

I gotta have my tint checked too. It passed. But what a pain since the inspection station can't do it and I have to take it to the MVA.

Also, NC does not have a requirement for front plates and the MD does... but what if I just don't do that... big fine?

I can say this... though it may mean nothing to the natives of MD: The MD MVA is fast. I have been there 4 times (drivers license, tint check, wife's van for plates, my car for plates). I was never there longer than 15 minutes. Ohio... an hour for anything is the starting point... same as in NC.

Which MVA station did you go to? Certainly not Frederick, they don't even speak english anymore.

If the inspection station passed your car, why do you have to go to MVA? If it passed it passed.

Bel Air MVA is pretty quick - usually. The fine for failure to attach both plates is $60.00 & no points. Lots of people opt out and risk the fine to avoid fubaring the front bumper.

I live in VA and they are a pain as well. I've never been to a Northern VA DMV where it didn't take almost an entire morning/afternoon... I am supposed to have both plates on as well but I'll be damned if I'm drilling holes in my bumper. I keep the plate in the trunk and I would rather pay the fine...

They wouldn't pass it until the MVA checked the tint and I brought back the paperwork.

Bel Air is where I went.

I asked TheDealer to quote me the bracket. I am fence sitting right now about the whole thing. I may try to find a way to make a bracket that doesn't have to be drilled through the bumper cover but admittedly I am not even sure when I will have time to look into it.

You could put the front plate in the window for now until you decide. At least it will be visable.

Even with the tag in the front windshield he can still be pulled over and it also is a injury risk cause things like to fly around in the car when its hit specially from the rear. If your going to live in MD for long time then I would just put it on and save yourself the hassle, if only for awhile then leave it off and pay the fine if you were to ever get one.

Now thats some good idea, like some hook and loop 3m tape, pretty easy to take off also.

As the Guinness guys say BRILLIANT!
