Hi
Does anyone have photographs of their stock Marauder fuel injectors? I'm interested in seeing what type of electrical connector they use, and the part # on the side of the injectors.
In my notes, I have written down "2C5E-A4A" as the part # on the side of the injector, but it has been several years and I'm not sure where I got this info :help:
Are these 24 lb/hr injectors? Has anyone successfully retrofitted them in another Panther application?
Thank you very much for your time.

Thank you very much!!!
Those appear to be EV1 injectors with Jetronic connectors... they may work on the older Panthers, and the SOHC V8 trucks/vans but not the 98-02 Panthers :(

Bummer. Time to upgrade maybe

Do you know if the Marauder injectors are rated for 23-24 lb/hr?
I checked the FSM for the 2003 Aviator, and it shows different injectors from the one posted in this thread. The FSM shows what appears to be EV6 injectors similar to the ones used in the 2005-up Ford Mustang GT. According to the Motorcraft catalog, the 03-05 Aviator uses the same injectors as the 03-04 Marauder... ???
Here's a pic of the injector diagram for the 2003 Aviator - it's supposed to use the same injectors as the 03-04 Marauder :help:
Thanks in advance!! :)

Do these look familiar?

Charlie,
I believe they're 23#. I have retro'ed a set into my car (The Vic) along with the MM airbox, '04 CVPI ziptube, 80mm Airflow housing and my original MAF sensor. Direct replacement in all cases! The Vic came with a 70mm throttle body from the factory (Measures 69mm ID). It runs about 10% leaner than it should (LTFT's around +10% under highway load) but that was easily corrected with a little attenuation at the MAF inlet. Using a small piece of a 3" rubber plumbing fitting to slightly narrow (About 3mm overall) the inlet brought my fuel trims to better than they were stock under all conditions. Tremendous power increase on the still-factory 87octane tune. I ran 15.6xx with a 2.21x 60' before changing the injectors and trimming the rubber fitting. That was in full work trim (300lbs of extra stuff in the trunk and front seat, not including me!). With the 23# injectors and greater airflow, my torque convertor is struggling to lock-up on hard romps. It feels way more powerful and my O2 sensors appreciate the setup. I have to get a tuner at this point to correct the trans issues and get me some more timing. I need a little more than 5400rpm in first gear to aleviate the second gear drop as well. If I had a 93 octane CVPI tune, this boat would be in the 14's. It will easily run with the MM through second gear now. I am going to melt the convertor if I don't get it corrected with a tune, soon.
HTH,
J
P.S. That's a picture of them you just posted!

Were these your stock Vic injectors by any chance?

So the Marauder injectors fit the intake manifold and fuel rail without any problems?
Thank you very much!

Precisely! Try it, you may like it. I'll even check the numbers in a little bit to make sure. There's a little bracket on the driver's side rear covering the fuel rail end. The nut on the rear of the head is a 15mm if I recall correctly. It's a bit of a pain to get at but you only have to loosen it and not remove it completely. Just loosen enough to move the bracket up out of the way and swap #8.

Thanks for the info! That's good news that the Marauder injectors will retrofit on the Vic.
Did you measure the TB at the rear (intake spacer/plenum side) or the front (inlet tube side)?
TB measured at the entrance. Never took it off the car. Just what are you up to???

He's trying to prove, again, that we all wasted our money by buying a Marauder. He's going to make his older CV just as good (with Marauder parts)

I got the injectors and the OAL is the same as the EV6 and EV1 dimensions. Some slightly differences are in how far the top O-ring sits from the top edge of the injector, and how close the USCAR connector sits in relation to the fuel rail.
Another difference is that these Aviator/marauder injectors only have 2 spray ports in the nozzle versus the 4 in the stock Crown Vic/99-01 Cobra EV6 injectors.

Here's an interesting tidbit if you are interested in learning more about the parts used in your Marauder:
The stock injectors aren't even made by Bosch. They are Siemens Deka IV injectors (long model with standard tips). I do not know what type of orifice plate or spray pattern they have. The new 05-up Mustang GTs also use Siemens Deka IV injectors. Siemens is now up to the Deka VII model. The connector is still the USCAR connector. A lot of people incorrectly refer to the different connectors as EV1/EV6. Cliff's Notes: The older 5.0 injectors and the FRPP non-EV6 injectors are Bosch EV1s with Jetronics connectors while the Crown Vic injectors used from 99-up are Bosch EV6s with USCAR connectors. There are even Bosch EV6 injectors with Jetronics connectors, but I have not seen them used on Fords! To add further confusion, the new S197 Mustangs use Siemens Deka IV injectors with USCAR connectors. :)
The Siemens 55/60lb/hr "MotoTron" injectors are Deka IV injectors as well (these are usually sold with the SCT Big MAF or other upgrade kits).

you are correct. That is confusing.

I revised my webpage, so hopefully it clears things up a little.
