Stranger in the Black Sedan

Hi guys, I just noticed when I was adding my new slotted rotors to my 300A the other day that the front (original) tires have 25% or more tread across most of the tread width except the very inside, which is worn bald, and rounded off on the edge. The car drives totally straight, doesn't pull, steering wheel is centered when travelling straight, etc. You can let go of the wheel on the highway and the car will keep tracking straight for miles.
Was my car badly aligned and then corrected before I bought it? The tie rod jam nuts have wrench marks where it looks like they have been adjusted. I can't imagine that a car that wore the inside edges of the front tires as bad as mine would drive as straight as it does now. I was reading that at least one other member on the board wore the insides of his front tires and attributed it to "bad alignment" as well.
I bought new OEM tires and am going to have the alignment checked when they are installed.
Anyone else eaten the inside edges of their front tires? Did an alignment correct this wear habit?
