As some of you know I have a Vortech, but it's bolted to my small block Chevy engine. I'm tring to get this thing off and it's a V2 model. Does anyone know where I can find some link or something that has a picture and arrows pointing to all the bolts for removal or something related? I got off 5 bolts and still can't get the thing to budge and can't fine any more. There were 4 little ones and one big one off a pully, but not the pully off the blower. Thanks.

Didn't you install the Vortech?
Do you have the owner's manual?

I just got off the phone with a certian someone and found out that I must remove the mounting plate because the blower can come off that. Soon as the plate is removed it'll come off the engine and I can get to the bolt thats outta reach and the blower will fully come off.

Uhhhh...... you were trying to remove the blower from the plate, while the plate was attatched to the engine?

I was simply tring to get the blower off and nothing else. Turns out I had to remove the mounting plate to get to a bolt to free the blower. I got it done in the matter of five minutes or so. The only problem was I had to use a knife to cut a black hose to get it free. It's off now and looks bigger than I remember it. I'll bring it to the next Chicken Run and see what we can come up with.

Thanks lets just hope it works as a simply bolt on... but it sounds like it may need mods to work.

Uuh, that black hose you cut off with a knife? Did any wet or slipery stuff come out of it? Did you happen to notice where it goes, to and from? Any indication of what it used to do? Cutting black hoses can sometimes always lead to unintended consequences. Glad you used a knife, instead of a chain saw.

It was on a Shebby Motor....so, no big deal. ;)

Glad you got that sucker off w/o many problems.

So, Dom.....what are the plans? Custom S/C application on the MM?

Nothing came outta the hose and the chainsaw was outta gas! Grrrrrrrrr! What I'm going to do is email pics to a few people on here and take the blower to the next Chicken Run to see if it'll work. If not I'll trade someone my Chevy blower for a Ford. I heard they spin different ways so chances of this one working aren't looking good. :depress:

I don't see why spinning in a different direction would matter... you are making a custom brace anyway... just make it on the other side

I was just told it's the wrong one. Anyone wanna make a trade? Chevy blower for a Mercury? I don't care what brand as long as I get 9psi and it works. I won't let this stop me. :banana2:
