...that they would be willing to "part with"? I just moved here to California from Florida and they do the 2 plate bit (which I dislike). I just don't want to risk a chance of getting hassled for not having it. Might just drill a minimum of 2 small holes and attatch the thing (whatever I can get away with without losing the bracket). Any input on acquiring and mounting this would be greatly appreciated.
I can pay for shipping, just as long as it's not relatively close to buying one from the dealer...

if its on there use as many holes as it takes because you dont want to skimp and it rubs the paint and bumper at highway speeds

If you take a good look at the bumper you'll see 4 dimples, this is where the front plate mount goes.

Just had the bracket added by the dealer (required by NY state). Twenty eight for the bracket and forty for the install. Makes the car look a foot longer.

I just picked up a license plate bracket from Auto Zone for 9 bucks. Its chrome and holds the plate out away from the bumper....it is from Bell. I took it to the body shop yesterday and they are going to install it for me....replaces that big ugly black one.

Jan 24 was my 3yr anniversary with the car. It was bought in TN, which is apparently a no front plate state. TX is a front plate state. Monday, I got stopped for the first time for no front plate, and got a warning ticket. Wasn't in my town, but a neighboring one.
I've got the bracket, but haven't wanted to put it on, because of the looks. Whenever we have some sort of get together around here, I always like the looks of mine without the plate a whole lot better than those with it.
I just hope I can continue without being "hassled by the man".

Thank you all for the replies and thanks for the welcome! Took some getting used to, the first time I saw a ramp meter on I accidently ran it.
I love the looks going sans front plate too, and it's going to be sad drilling 4 holes into the bumper but at least I get to do it with my choice of hardware (unlike the plastic rivet nightmare). The funny thing is, mine was purchased in New Jersey (which I believe to be a two plate state) but never had the bracket. I'm glad I can find the four dimples in the bumper to mount it.

Took the ugly black plastic abomination off when the front bumper got sanded and repainted. Can't make myself put it back on. Not required here, so ya cant make me. If you'd like it for free just PM me with your address. Comes with a flat shiny metal grinning skull and bones applique on it at absolutely NO extra charge!!!

Here is the bracket on my Moms Solara

The bracket is adjustable, so you can have it out further if you want...you may need a frame so its not just the plate and you can cover up the sharp edges like on this plate

Well I would like to send out a big thanks to not5-0 for helping me out shipping me out the bracket! Just goes to show you what kind of genuine people are on this forum. Looks like I'll need to get my drill ready :(
It's ok, I'll be gentile.
