FastMerc,
I'm so sorry! I'm glad you're just bruised up. Same probably goes for the car. It'll be like new in no time, I'm sure. Keep your chin up and look forward to a pristine new paint job you can't wax for a month!

Best luck,

J

Glad you are OK. The car will get fixed. No airbags will majorly drop the cost of repairs and help keep you out of total territory.

Dayum --- the last several months have been really hard on the Marauder fleet. Seems that there have been more MM accidents in the past 6 months than in the previous 3 years. WASUPWIDIS ????

Sorry to hear about your wreck; but glad to hear that your injuries were not serious. Hope the damage to your MM is repairable --- quickly. :D

FYI. When my rear end kicked out briefly on me, the TC flashed on and off several times rather quickly. I just happened to notice it in my "peripheral" vision. It could have kicked in and you just didn't notice it since you were probably busy looking at the road and not the instrument cluster. ;)

Ouch, sorry to hear about your accident and pain. I am surprised the airbags did not deploy. The front end looks pretty trashed.

I didn't see the rt frame rail. Is it that far bent over?

BTW, Zack has the "Legend" for sale for a nice price.

Saw the pics. Poor Marauder. Glad that you're ok.

One thing that I cannot seem to understand is how can the Airbags not go off with all that damage-especially to the front of the car?

This is the not the first Marauder that I have seen Totaled or close to it without the Airbags going off.

What the heck is wrong with them?

Thank God you are OK Mark.

It's disheartening to hear this kind of news. Your car is one of the few that stood out from the rest in the MV-xxx parking lot. :(

Ouch, looks like a hard hit. Glad your ok...but sorry you got in an accident.

Will you be parting the car out? If so contact me plz

The car must have been spinning and tore the front off as opposed to a direct impact. I can see the dr.'s side impact sensor in the frontal view. It looks untouched. That would explain the lack of deployment from any of the bags. I'm just glad you're okay. There's alot of damage there. If the bags had deployed, the cost of repair would have risen at least 25% (In the case of a four-bagger). You also may have been more injured!

Best wishes and keep us informed,

J

FastMerc
02-03-2007, 07:30 AM
The impact was not a direct headon hit I was sliding sideways when when the front taged the guardrail. The wiring harness that is tied to the sensores was cut on impact and believe that is the reason for airbag failure?

FastMerc
02-03-2007, 07:36 AM
I will tell you all this that is why I will never owne a vehicle that does not have a full fram under it,NO unibodies... The car was deffinantly able to take the hit and protect its passengers.

That is a shame, your baby is a bad mess but you are ok. We seem to be lucky to have the ride we do and more of us walk away than you would expect. Good luck down the road with this. Thanks for the pics. Helps us appreciate our Marauders. Dennis

That hurts to look at it. Just glad that you're OK.

A good body shop should be able to fix it as good or better (paintwise) than new. I hit a drinking driver head-on with my brand new 90 Probe GT (seven weeks old), then we spun and hit each other again. We walked away from wreck with no injuries. Never thought that that car would ever see the road again. They cut the front end off just in front of the engine and straightened the unibody, repaired the rear. Except for a few slight burn marks on trim from buffing the paint, and about an extra 1/16th inch gap between door and front fender. The repair held up great. I kept it another 8 years. My cousin that sold me the car new, bought it from me when I went to trade it in, and drove it for another couple years.

That's a hellova way to get a new paint job! Keep us posted.
