Hi guys, just wondering if our wheels are bare polished aluminum or chromed aluminum. I had the car aligned today and the alignment heads scratched the very edge of the wheels where they mounted. In one spot I have a small chip on the edge that makes it look to me like the wheels are plated. I have made dealers and tire shops replace wheels in the past for damaging them but this is minor and it looks inevitable due to the very flat face of these wheels, which makes it very hard to mount alignment heads on them.
Hopefully the damn tiny chip doesn't cause the plating to peel from it in the future.

They are polished forged aluminum and clear coated. IIRC dennis

sounds like they didn't use the correct wheel fixture. Search threads and you'll find reference to the correct one. It won't mark the wheels

Oh I definitely know they didn't use the correct wheel fixture, hence marking them. Nothing I can do about it now, what's done is done. I'll get a clear coat touch up pen and hit the chipped spot. I hate clear coated wheels, if they were bare I could just buff them again. Thanks for the responses guys
