So, I went to CAP, like I usually do since Auto Zone blows, and I usually get K&N oil filters. They didn't have any in stock, so my only other choice was Fram. I have no problem with buying a Fram, it's just not my first choice. But, I checked their book, they did not have a Marauder listed in '03 and '04. I went to the counter, and they said, "any of the 2's will work." Meaning the only number in the full name is 2. I bought a PH2 filter. I came home and checked Fram's site, they do not list a Marauder again for '03 and '04. Is this filter going to not fit or what?

I have the same MotorCraft filter in there now though. The other parts store where I got my Lucas Oil and MC filter is far away to travel too, otherwise I'd be back there buying more Lucas and another Motorcraft filter. Thanks Rich.

As the others said, FRAM filters should only be used as a last resort. Wally World sells Motorcraft oil filters, and there is a NAPA on every other street corner in most places. NAPA Gold filters, which are made by WIX and are identical to the WIX brand except for the paint on the can, are also a top choice, as are CarQuest Blue filters.

To answer your original question, the FRAM PH2 is the correct number for this application, but do yourself a favour and return it. The Motorcraft FL820S you have on the car now is good for extended drain intervals of up to 10,000 miles, so you'd be better off leaving it on there for a little while longer until you can get another one, or at least get a NAPA Gold/WIX/Mobil 1/K&N/Purolator Pure One/etc.

Jarod, your MM uses the same filter/numbers as your 95 did.

As mentioned above - Motorcraft FL820s

The best oil filter is the amsoil eao-11, it fits the marauder, it has a synthetic media, its good for 1 year or 25,000 miles, it filters down to 10 microns( most oil filters usually filter between 20 and 40 microns) because its synthetic media it will flow better and catch more junk, go to a website called Bobs the oil guy, they all say its the best, for more protection go to filtermag.com and get the filtermag for your oil filter, this thing filters down to 1 micron, the most engine wear according to cummins diesel is between 5 and 15 microns that is circulating through your engine because the filter cannot trap it, if you dont believe me I will tell you this my other car is a 83 El camino that I always used the ac pf35L oil filter that filters down to 12 microns it is synthetic media, in the GM performance parts catalog it says cut engine wear by 75% my El Camino has 350,000 miles on a carburated 305, when I bought it with 25,000 miles the salesman said I should get 150,000 miles out of the engine, this filter is not cheap, $15.00 , but it will last a lot longer than a Fram oil filter, when I used to walk around junkyards I would look at the oil filters on the engines most of them were fram or some el cheapo filter, I never saw an engine with a PF35L synthetic media oil filter, our Marauders are soon to be classics and not cheap cars why put a cheap filter on acar that one day could be worth more than what we payed for it, also filtermag has a tm360 magnet that goes on the bottom of are trans pans and traps down to 1 micron, a leading trans rebuilder has said trap particules in your transmission down to 3 microns and increase the life of your trans 7 times, filtermag also has a magnet that goes inside your differential, the tm360 magnet is so powerful that when I put it on my trans pan I could barely move it, same with the filtermag on my oil filter, when I take it off my oil filter I have to pull real hard with 2 hands and I have it up on a lift and it is still hard to pry off,its so powerful that in the instructions it says to keep it away from pacemakers, if you dont believe me call them up at 1-800-filtermag , hope this helps you.

...same with the filtermag on my oil filter, when I take it off my oil filter I have to pull real hard with 2 hands and I have it up on a lift and it is still hard to pry off.

You could just "slide it off" rather than prying it off. Much easier IMO.

I meant sliding it off, sorry about not phrasing it right but I was on this website late last night.
