Hi Ho;
Since the middle of January I have noticed a slight jerk in the car when I take off, almost at any throttle position other than creep.
I thought it might be a drive train problem but my car Doctor, Jim the "laughing Gasser", couldn't find anything amiss.
Well, this AM my left rear tire went flat and I limped to the Cooper tire shop down the street. Found a small nail in the center tread but also found something more serious.
The side walls were becoming unglued. Sheets of material were stripping away from the side walls. The repair man did not want me to drive another foot. However, I prevailed upon him to fix the flat so I could get home.
I'm going to wait and see if I win the Lottery this month before I do any ordering of rear tires, they have 27K on them. The MM is parked till then.
The repair man said the delamination (my word) was caused by low tire pressure. I may have had a slow leak (it was a small nail) and not noticed it.
Anyway to make a long story short, the flat is fixed the tire has 35 LBS of pressure and that jerk that I experienced at take off is gone.
Conclusion: Check tire pressure every couple of weeks or sooner. Visual may
not be adequate.
