I wouldn't touch this vehicle. I live by the Atlantic Ocean and know full well what salt air and salt water can do to a vehicle. It'll be a rust bucket in no time.

I agree thatthis car should only be crushed. You will never be able to stop the corrision. People buy salt water boats and bring them back to mich. and have nightmares over the problems. Stay away!

Current bid is $3025....that's a whole lot of Marauder parts for only $3,000.

Heck, the rims even look like they are in decent shape.

Salt Water + Aluminum Engine + Aluminum Transmission = MAJOR CORROSION.

The only salvageable parts here are anything plastic that can be washed.
Let it rest in peace....

I feel bad for the previous owner who probably never drove it and now its a total loss.

Agree with you Larry...I was stationed in that area for many years so I know what your saying. I also do not have nice things to say about that dealership thats " sorta right around the corner " from you ... Myra Oberdorf doing okay ? How has she been ?

Salt water damage is fatal.

After the hurricane flooded the Florida Gulf Coast a few years back, I was driving a wrecker part-time and had to tow a few salt water floods. The brakes were corroded together and the cars would drag the tires in neutral. Salt water is so corrosive. The copper wire in the car will start to corrode from electrolysis and NEVER stop. The car may look good but every mechanical piece will fall apart. Nothing is salvageable except the plastic stuff. Did anyone else notice the intake tract is off of the throttle body?

I would bet that if the battery was OK when it flooded the electrical stuff was GONE in 10 minutes.......We dropped a flashlight in at the end of my dock (salt water) and by the time I managed to get it with a boat hook the innards were TOAST!!! All the copper disintegrated in a matter of 10 minutes or less!!

Nothing on that car is worth $3000 or even $300 IMHO!!:shake:

Too bad for the owner, and too bad about one more gone. However, this:

Is pretty funny. :)

I read that and started to laugh haha. So, since this car is....., done really what can you salvage from it... the seats? That's really a shame...

Meyera Oberndorf is still hanging in there as Mayor of Virginia Beach. She believes in slow growth but unfortunately there aren't enough like her in the City. Virginia Beach is growing almost out of control, I cannot figure out where all these people are coming from. Oceana Naval Air Station is threatning to shut down and move because of all the sprawl near its flight paths. Send me your mailing address and next time there's a significant article on her in The Virginia-Pilot I'll mail it to you.

That car is for sale at the old IAA Insurance auto auction. I bought 33 cars there one day after the hurricane of fall 2003..Most of the cars were real decent. You must look at the fuse box for corrosion and as long as there is no green corrosion growing on it the water didnt touch it...I also found alot of cars people had put a hose into the interior and filled the cars up with water to get the ins co to total them...DONT say you would not touch this car unless you have a professional check it out...I have several buyers that work that sale and for $250 they will give you a condition report try to start it and bid on it for you with you on the phone while the auction is going...I'd be all over this car if I needed another one...Id send it to another state and do a abandoned title and it will come back clear.....

I had to laugh because I also have a dead spider in my instrument cluster. It's been in the car since I bought it 3 years ago. It just hasn't bothered me enough to try to get it out.

Could you explain that last sentence for me. I read it as you would take a knowingly salvaged car and get a title in a differnet state that will make the car appear as it is clear and not salvaged? Hope i am reading it wrong.
