Is there a way that I can get the parking lights to flash when I lock/unlock the car with the remote without the horn honking?

Good question... My 04 Taurus just flashed the lights unless I hit the lock button twice. It also turned the head lamps on when unlocked. It would be nice to have the option....

if the heaqdlights are in auto lamp mode they will light up when unlocked -- but only if the outside light is dim enough to trigger the auto on headlights when the car is running

What he said.:D ^^^^^^^^^^
Do you have the Ford remotes or aftermarket? Most aftermarket systems will do both and have the ability to turn off the horn.

isn't there some instructions in the owners manual about turning off the horn?
Yes there is a sequence listed in the owners manual for the remote locking feature. You can turn off the horn beep. If you have a factory alarm and it chirps you will need to find the black box (under dash usually) open it up and change the dip switches, make sure you have the factory alarm manual first so you know what to do. If you dont have one I can make a copy for you.

I like that except I still want the auto lock feature just not the horn chirp. anyway to separate the two?

I have the autolock on, and the horn chirp off. But the part I am after is getting the corner lights to flash. The lights dont come on at all. I was wondering if there was a way to make them flash.. After re-reading my initial post, I can see where the confusion arose.
BTW, yes - factory ford keyless. I'd love to put an aftermarket system in there, its just not in the cards right now.

No problem.
On a related note, WhyTF does every step say 1. 1. 1.
