I don't use the door buttons very often. They do come in handy when I don't have the keys with me and I want to pop the trunk or hood or get something out of the glove compartment. I find that it is most convenient when washing or waxing the MM. The lock feature probably gets the most use.

I use them all the time. I don't even carry the key fob, too easy to hit buttons when it's in my pocket.

Don't use them often, but I have peace of mind that I will never be locked out of my car. They are nice to have in the winter when you need to start the vehicle and need to walk away for awhile.

I use them pretty often. Hitting last two on the right locks the doors - and I tend to paranoically check to see if I locked the doors. Easier to press the buttons than dig for my keys. Also use them to go get stuff outta the car or trunk that I forgot to bring in the house. I am getting real forgetfull in my old age.

I use the keypad. I'm so used to because of having 2 1992 GMLSs and a 1987 Mark VII LSC that came with it.

I had the trunk lock changed because it siezed up probably from salt, so a make it a point to use all the locks and the key pad just to keep it active

You leave your keys in the car and just use the key pad to get in and out of the car???

I use mine all the time....
When I start my car in the morning I lock the keys in....(winter time)
In the summer when I'm showing homes I have to leave the A/C on cause the car gets insanely hot inside within about 5 minutes so I use the keyless code and keep the A/C cranked.
If I'm not home and I have the mustang or I'm with my wife and someone needs something or to let the dogs out I give them the code and they can use the garage door opener on my visor...
The best part about it is that if you know your code you'll NEVER have to worry about locking your keys in the car. I think its one of the best features fomoco came out with. I think Steeda sells a OEM ford kit to retrofit stangs...

I know this may have been asked before but how do you find out the code if you do not know it? I bought the car from an individual and never thought to ask him... Can it be reset?

Look in the owner's manual and see if there is a sticker on the plastic credit card that should be in one of the pockets. Mine came with about 6 of the little stickers with the code on it. :D
The owner's manual tells the # combos that will pop the trunk and lock the doors.

Thanks for the heads-up... I'm looking forward to August already...

I also use my keypad to get stuff out of the trunk, glove box, etc. when I don't have my keys with me.
I wouldn't lock the doors with the KOER - the '98+ keypads are very prone to failure and erratic operation.
If you don't have the stickers or the plastic card in the owner's booklet- the code may be on RH trunk lid arm.
Otherwise, you can pull the driver's door panel and read it right off the DDM. You may be able to read it just by shining a light through the speaker grille and looking down towards the lower hinge.

I learned my code by asking the dealer. They enter your VIN in their computer and get the code.

I rarely ever use the key pad. I have the code programed in my cell phone.
