ping knocking

hey i got a couple of questions my 03 mm got some serious pinging going on anybody can shine some light on the subject.have a php cai with a dr tune, maybe the tune to much? thanks in advance for your help.

Did the pinging start after installing the cai? Does it ping under full throttle, part throttle or both?

it start after the cai install it ping at half and full throttle

What grade of fuel did you put in and from what gas station?

Talk to DR about recalibrating the tune's MAF transfer function for the PHP cai. It's probably running lean because of the engine is getting more air that the MAF thinks it is... he should be able to take care of it no problem.

If the tweaking of the tune doesnt work try and check the PCV valve on the passenger side valve. Mine was screwed for months and was detonating pretty bad.

I have the PHP airbox, magnaflows and DR tune. Tune was first, then leter mufflers added , then later the PHP airbox. I called DR to verify that I didn't need and updated tune. Blue Thunder runs better than fine with the mods added to the original tune. :) Please call Dennis, you may have other issues going on causing your pinging.
