Hey MM'ers,
It has been suggested that since I rarely STAND on the throttle of MM and the fact that I get about 230 mpg, I might have some carbon buildup. I have to assume this is on the plugs and manifold.
Any of you have this problem? How did you remedy this? I worked for Ford and they used to sell a service that involved an Intake ( throttle body ) service.
Feedback is anticipated

It's easy, w/ eng running and in drive just push your foot down on the accelerator until you cannot push it any more, repeat, repeat and repeat again.
Be careful can be addictive.

Dont be shocked if you see a poof of black smoke when you start getting on it, then you know you are cleaning it out.

Catalytic Converter Crud or the dreaded CCC is what you mostly clean out with the wheelstands...keeps em from getting blocked with Argentinian Citgo Crud...Chavez Revenge

+1.
Prior to every third oil change I run a full can through a full tank of gas (like a week before) and I put three or four ounces in teh crankcase just before I start up for the warm up for my oil change (like a 10 mile drive).

I've noticed sometimes when I go from the 3-2 shift @ wot at the peak and when it shifts back into 3rd I can see a poof of black smoke come out a little bit. Time for seafoaming before new plugs go in.

I have owned both 2 valves and 4 valves modular in Mustangs before the Marauder. All modular likes to be "sollicitated" every week or so to be happy. The rings and all moving parts must know up to where they can go at 5-5500 rpm. If not, these engines build deposits and start to think they are single cam from the '60s which is not really nice from their point of view.
Don't be afraid to push them up in the rev, taking off OD and even with locked second gear in the city. IMO, if done smoothly, it's OK and not abusing at them at all. It's might cost one more gallon at the most for each month and you'll have that funny smile ....
My .02 cents

Ok, by no means do I drive it like my grandad would. I enjoy getting on it here and there. I dont feel the need to leave 1st at every light. It is a daily driver so I treat it that way. No Im not getting a turbo or a supercharger anytime soon, but I do have a tune on the way, Thanks to Rich Long. I just want to enjoy this car without beating the crap out of it on a daily basis. I have 3 other cars, one of which is 40 Ford Coupe, tubbed and ProStreet for pounding on. Thanks to those that gave advice, I reserve comment for the others. I come here to get the 411.

If you are really concerned about this, then maybe once a month add either Seafoam or 12 ounces or so of transmission oil to one tankful of gas during fill-up. I personally add a few ounces of ATF to every tankful. This will minimize CC build-up and promotes ring and valve guide/seat lubrication.
