Hello!
I am buying a Marauder from another MM.net member and need to replace the battery before bringing the beast home(600 miles trip) I know this is a strange request but I want to puta hp battery in...can someone here run out to their baby and give me measurements of your factory battery so I can order the right size to fit the factory mounting spot...I would greatly appreciate the help...I look forward to being official here real soon!

Lighting in the garage sucks. :o
About 11.5" x 7.25" (Don't hold me to it)
Not sure on the height.
Your L/M Dealer should be able to get that for you.
Good luck!
Mike.

The Optima battery I got comes with adapters to mount just about in any stock spot, even for our group 65's.

ya know--ever time this subject comes up, I thnk about mine and its still the factory one from 6/02 build date.....and it seems fine --meaning doesn't seem to have any problems starting.......so I was wondering out loud here-----how do we tell when we getting close to changing a battery before the obvious..........

I just went to the Motor-craft site and from what I can determine our Marauder came with a 60 month battery. There are two other batteries available a 84 month and a 100 month. The site is fordpowerproducts.com. If you put in your vin# all part numbers for your car can be researched.

I'll never forget when my marauder was about 3 months old it started having stock battery problems. It would die...then i would charge it in the garage and then when it was fully charged, unplug the charger and leave it overnight, and the next morning it would have trouble starting....or wouldn't...my local L/M dealer gave me a new one 4 years ago and i've never had any problems with it....i've even drained it 2 or 3 times during installations. Just wanted to share my battery story lol... Sometimes weird stuff happens... :)

Thanks Guys Again! Hey Kenny...hat do you think about the Kinetik Batteries? I was thinking about it and they recommended their 2000 model(with what stereo stuff I desire that you'll more than likely be installing) I thought I'd try something different and powerful now that I've stepped up with the big boys! Ha! See you real soon...is dynamat necessary?

At 50,000 miles I visited my dealer for a Heavy Duty Motorcraft battery.
I got the highest amperage that would fit under the hood.
Motorcraft BXT65-650
Go to www.motorcraft.com
Key in your vin and then go to FULL-LINE CATALOG

Actually, you could have had another 200 CCA, and still be direct-fit under the hood.
Motorcraft BXT65-850 ;)

I get a lot of optimas back at work, dont know why, but they dont seem all that great from this side of the parts counter.
the stock motorcraft battery in my 96 E-350 was still going strong a few months ago when I decided to clean the terminal, and then it broke.
still slightly more than 10 year and 150k miles on one battery is astounding.
I usually buy the 8-yr autozone battery, 3 yr free replacement.

Do not ever buy a Procraft battery! Might as well call them "pro-rate". The first AND last one I had was replaced almost every year and the last clown said "oh, well, look at that power cable - you can't run a system with that kinda cable and make a battery last" I popped the trunk and had NOTHING in the car except a pre-wire job. The battery he put in that moment was dead right off the pallet.

Optima red top will most likely be the next battery.
Anyone have any experience with them?

My local independent battery/alternator/starter shop/rebuilder said the Optima batteries are not worth the high price.
I suppose there might be special applications where they are better than a conventional battery.
