I have a question prior to installing my tune. I have had an intermittent misfire
that put the check engine light on. It is on now. Do i need to clear this 1st before installing the new tune?

Thanks!

Whether you disconnect the battery or not, using your XCAL2 to flash your ECM will erase the keep alive memory. This, in effect, will clear your stored code.

You need to fix the misfire - the tune will not cure any existing malfunctions that are throwing a "check engine light"! If it's not firing on 8 now - it won't be after you install the tune either!

I am aware the tune wont fix the problem. It is firing on all 8. The code reads as misfire in the initial RPM during start up.

The Xcal 2 will clear as well as read this code, I would fix this issue before installing the tune
