Ugliest Marauder?

Saw this today as I was passing, just had to slow down and let it pass again so I could snap this photo. Sorry about the nasty windshield.

How about the vinyl/faux convertible top? The gold "Limited" trim on the roof, the gold trunk trim, and the chrome fenderwell trim to match it? How do you like that chrome rocker trim? I guess the pinstripe ain't too bad though.

That looks like something from around here (TN) ....everyone one thinks i have a marquis w/ a bunch of add ons.....most around here ride marquis or crown vics w/ 26 in rims and lift kits w/ nerf bars:shake:

That reminds me when I was looking for MM's, I was on AutoTrader and came across an '04 DTR for $17k. I was like, "OMG!!! What a great deal!" So, I supersized the pictures, and was a splitting image of that one. There was no way I was going to have another Panther car with a soft top on it. Why did Mercury make a few MM's with the soft tops?

Yes, it is a disgrace... BUT I would have to disagree with you and say it is much better than the Lime Green Machine with the Dubs and lambo doors. I would much rather drive a "Guidoed out" marauder than a "pimped" marauder. Dont get me wrong they both suck, but if i had a choice I'd pick this.

I think all of you guys are just jealous. :P This guy's got a 38 foot Fleetwood "Bounder" (est $179,060 - $182,840) cruising the highways towing his economy car (a 302 HP Mercury Marauder). Sure, he's done some mods. So have we (well, most of us anyway). I am sure he likes his car and his lifestlyle. Heck, I wish I could do it ...... the RV -- not the chrome trim and landau top. Wouldn't surprise me in the least to see that he has an S/C under the hood and a trophy wife in the passenger seat. ;)

I'm not saying I like but it's not like it would be that difficult to fix as opposed to some of the other custom ones we have seen, like the purple one with lambo doors. Remove the vinyl top, replace badges, and remove the chrome at the bottom and it's back to normal.

When I worked for Lincoln-Merc, we sent Grand Marquis out for all sorts of conversions. Some were customer ordered, and some where just dealer stock units. You'd be surprised what some of these dealers think "looks good".

Most of those cars are owned by older people, and they eat that stuff up. The chrome fender lips and rocker moldings, the carriage tops, they love it all. I used to install all that hideous stuff when I worked there.

Heck, we even had a customer order a green Grand Marquis, with a green carriage top, and custom green interior. It was the most rediculous car I'd ever seen. Be he liked it.

Actually I disagree. The worst I have seen was posted here a while ago. I think it had 24s, and running boards because it was up a little higher or that green one.

I actually like the chrome fender lips, but I probably wouldn't do it. I would never buy the rockers thats for sure!

And no, no roof treatment was factory installed on any panther since 1992. All the ones you see are aftermarket.
