I fly to houston on the 6th to pick mine up, and aside from a busted fog lamp, its supposed to be in good condition.
I am intereted in keeping it mostly stock, but a few invisible upgrades wouldnt hurt...
any suggestions?
I'm cruising the archives for ideas.

Of course a s/c is the first mod lol. Intake kit and flash tuner seem to be the first mods people do. Check out the vendors and what they have to offer.

A tune - totally reversable.

Rear controll arms, my first day I spun mine and found this site to find out why. It is the single biggest safety mod to do and is cheap, then do brakes than a tune go faster, this pig has a whole lot of physics behind it and looking at how we wreck them will give you the hint that after years of driving them... POOP happins.

Is it AstroVic's old car?
as best I can tell, his had 47xxx miles, mine has 89xxx miles.
if his has the higher miles when sold, its a good possibility. anybody know his VIN?

HERE (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280081218697) is a link to his EBay Auction.
According to the Auction, his VIN was: 2MEHM75V23X609261 (http://www.autocheck.com/?siteID=204&vin=2MEHM75V23X609261)

Tom's suggestion about the control arms is, especially with 80K on the clock, is a good one; but first determine if there are already mods you may not be aware of. Also, Steve's (Killjoy) list is a good progression on the way to proceed.
If it has gears, then the terrible rear differential cover pie pan has most likely been replaced with a new cover/stud and girdle kit (shiney hiney) Wes Chain, one of our supporting vendors, at Innovative Interceptors, has the Cobra ones at the best price you'll find anywhere. While you're under there, put on one of the Pro-Guard skid plates from Dennis Reinhart, another of our vendors. It's the cheapest, easiest, best mod you can do, and you'll recover your $60 in the first few tanks of fuel.
My advice is, don't go re-learning all the lessons about putting on go-fast goodies you may end up taking off later, because the other choice of exhaust system would have worked better with your next mod.
Good luck and :welcome1: .
Enjoy your ride back home from Houston, you'll soon learn what we mean about the "GRIN".

thanks, I've been lurking here since 04, but I suddenly have a heighened sence of purpose lately...
for now I think the intake spacer, diff cover, full syn fluids and the skid plate.
then a tune
the long tube header exhaust system is tempting however...

As for mods, I have a K&N drop in filter and underdrive pullies. Either will work fine with a tune.
