Having Problems With My Tranny

HEY DENNIS.It's chris from ny i having a problem with kelly's old marauder you built.the first air to air install.I KNOW YOU KNOW THIS CAR INSIDE OUT BECOUSE U BUILT IT.,THIS IS MY PROBLEM.WHEN I DRIVE AROUND TOWN I DRIVE WITH THE OVERDRIVE OFF.WHEN I HOPE ON THE PARKWAY AND HIT ABOUT 65 I TURN IT ON.I NEVER HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE CAR UNTIL TODAY.Today when i turned on the overdrive on the parkway the car rpms jumped and the motor screamed and the car dident move.I then slowed down and hit the gas again and nothing.the car just revs in overdrive it dosent move.When i clicked the overdrive off at a slower speed i lost drive.i had to drive 25 mph all the way home in 2nd.i checked the fluid and it was fine no burnt smell and clean.i never manually shift the car and i also baby her.when i got to my block i down shifted her to 1st and she shifted cleanlly into 2nd but no drive.PLEASE CAN U MAYBE GIVE ME YOUR OPINION OF WHAT MIGHT BE WRONG.If worse case i need to replace the tranny what do i need to do to keep my mods?WHAT PARTS WOULD I NEED TO BUY AND CAN I ORDER THEM FROM U?I would imagine this tranny is worth alot of money and the internal parts have to be high performance.please get back to me asap.:cry:I KNOW I HAVE A STAGE 2 TRANNY BUT WHAT DOES THAT ACTUALLY MEAN.

I noticed that my Marauder was not locking up the torque converter in O/D and that it was reving alittle higher in gears than normal. :confused:
My O/D off indicator lamp was flashing and I could not engage or disengage it with the button on the shifter.

The cause of the problem was a bad TCC solenoid, after a road test and a re-tune of the program, the Marauder is better than new, shifts perfect and with authority, the 1-2 shift at WOT always barks the tires, always.

You might have a bad TCC solenoid like I did, get it replaced and you should be good to go.:up:

With out having the car here is a tough call, but it does sound internal, I am heaaded to Fun Ford this weekend, call me when you can, the car has a ART Car level 2 kit in it, with a PI converter, that was installed over a year ago, when Kelley had the car done, so you may want to discuss wih him any issues with the car, but I will help any way I can, but again just give me a call.

Well Spoke To Dennis Few Minutes Ago And Things Are Already Looking Brighter.dennis Is Talking With A Really Good Mechanic Here In Long Island Ny Sal From Power Surge To Help Me With My Situation Since I Am So Far Away From His Shop.i Had To Come To The Conclusion That I Bought The Car From Kelly Few Months Back And All Mods Were Done A Quite Time Ago.there Are No Extended Warrenties On The Tranny Or Other Parts On The Car .i Bought This Car Knowing It Was A Monster And That Things could and do sometimes Tend To Go Wrong With High Performance Modifications.i Am Really Happy With My Choice In Acquiring My Sc Marauder Built By Dennis Reinhart.if The Tranny Needs Modification Dennis Will Be The First Person I Go To For Parts.i Am Actually Excited To Drop The Tranny Since I Have Been Thinking Of Upgrading My Torque Converter To A 3500.thanks Again.will Post Modifications Soon.

I will send a Art car kit at cost and I will call Jack at PI and have the converter inspected and upgraded to a 3500 for free. I would also have Sal check the car over while its there.

You are in luck hooking up w/Sal! If anyone on Long Island can get a tranny to stay together in a S/C Panther, it's Sal. Check out some of the pictures of Mad Max with just a little bit of daylight showing under the front wheels during the 1/4 mile launches at the track.

Sorry your having problems with your car. I sold the car with 19,000 miles so god only knows what happened between the time I sold it and the when you bought it.

I think 10k on high performance car is pretty good with no issues. My new SRT-10 goes through a factory clutch evey 1200 miles.

I still wish I hadn't sold that car. :(

you lost the direct clutch. it applies in 3rd and 4th gear. maybe it is burned up....it is a small clutch pack and could easily burn in a heavily modded car.....

I applaud you on your maintenance of a positive attitude. Others may have been bitter and thrown blame. Your attitude is right on target and will net you plenty help in our world.
Congrats on your purchase and good luck with your fix/mods.

I have about 9K on a Level II Art Carr from Dennis. It's as strong as the day it went in, though I, unfortunatly, do not punish it with as much power!

I have heard nothing but good things from people that have experiences with Sal.
