Here's the plan...
I would like to put single beam HID's in the headlights... no problem there.
I have a set of HID's for the fog lights... no problem there.
I want to add a set of high brightness off road beams behind the grille... no problem there.
Here's the problem...
I want to wire the off-roads to the high beam signal, but I want the HID's and fogs to stay on. I know there's a scematic pic around here somewhere that shows how to keep the fogs on with the brights, but damned if I can find it. I remember it's just a relay jumper. I need to know if there's a similar jumper type mod to keep the high beams AND low beams on together.
My goal is to light up the dark a$$ country roads I drive on! Fogs + HID's + big off-road lights should definately do the trick.
Any help would be appreciated!

Someone posted something about jumpering a relay/fuse in the engine compartment. Said they found it on a Lightening board.
Found it..... http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/showthread.php?t=32378&highlight=fog+light
Rich, you posted to that thread.

All you have to do is pull out the fog lamp CUTOUT relay and put jumper wire with two male spade terminals soldered on to slide right in.

The jumper needs to be between the relay's #87a (the one in the dead center under the relay) and #30 (the one which is perpendicular to the #87a pin directly below it) pins on the base/fusebox. These pins connect to the WH/LG and BN wires in the diagram below:

This bypasses the highbeam fog cutoff, but keeps everything else (circuit protection, fog relay, etc.) stock
If you want the mod permanent (I don't recommend, as some state laws probibit use of auxilary fog lamps w/ highbeams) then cut the same two wires and solder+heatshrink them together.
Have fun! :)

Hmmm, I did, didn't I. I swear I looked and couldn't find it!
That's one piece of te puzzle. Maybe the other piece is in that drawing as well!

You did. And I thank you. I just couldn't freakin find it! Guess the caffeine hadn't kicked in yet.

OK. This one keeps the fogs on with the high beams, but now how do I keep the low beams on with the high beams?!

Doh! The whole point was to not even have an additional switch! Duct tape.
Let's duct tape Steve's hands together so he can't type no more!!!! :P

OK. This one keeps the fogs on with the high beams, but now how do I keep the low beams on with the high beams?!Alright, step 1 is done... time for step 2 :D
Pulling back on the wiper stalk (flash to pass) instead of pushing foward
(highbeam locked) will keep the Highbeam + lowbeam on - not ideal if you want it to be like this all the time :D
Ford does this to prolong the life of the 9007 bulbs - which will overheight and fail prematurely if the high and low beams are used simultaneously for extended lengths.
I thought about it for a minute, and here is what I came up with to solve this issue for you magindat:
To bypass this, you will need to put a jumper between the LCM low beam output upstream of the MFS, and the lowbeam output downstream of the MFS.

What this will do is allow the low beam circuit to completely bypass the MFS. The MFS is what kills the low beams when high beams are locked on.
I think this setup will work fine - it is effectively the same thing as pulling back on the MFS to activate flash to pass. But allows you to do this when pushing, and locking the MFS in the foward high beam position as well.
Let me know how it works out, and if you need any help.

Dude, you rock!!!
It'll be a while before I get to this. I typically research my next mods FAR in advance. I'll be printing you schematic and keeping it ready!
Thanx.
