I recently purchased the bosch ICON blades for the MM based on an application guide for the GM. These new technology low profile blades can only be used on a hook connector wiper arm-no adapter available. My MM has the pin type connector. Began wondering if the application guide was wrong then looked around a fleet parking lot and found the crown vics and GM's are found with both types of arms. Why FoMoCo did this is a mystery. Same year cars will have different connector wiper arms. I'm going to swap wiper arms from a crown vic that has the hook connector. Sorry for the long story, to the point,,,I have removed wiper arms from an explorer. kind of a pain. Do I need a special tool for this? Is there a retaining clip or pull pin? Or is it just pressure installed and pryed off? Thanks in advance
There's a release tab at the base of the arms. Lift the arm (Pivot) and peel the little tab out. Question - why don't you just get the proper wipers?
Good luck,
J

Because.......I like the way they look ...I don't want to deal with boxing them up and shipping them back to the internet store and........I can do a swap with a fleet car where I work,,no cost.................thanks for the tip
I tried getting the Bosch Icons from Murray's Auto and they told me that the ones for the GM would fit the MM. I didn't feel right and called Bosch and Bosch told me that they don't make the Icon for the MM because of the Shepard's hook) and they recommended the Premium(?) blades.

2003/2004 CV/GM/MM use the same wipers, pin type.
