For the first time I say the production looks better than the concept.

Wow, definitely. Looks weird without the blackened headlamp assemblies and with the chrome strip...And those wheels aren't nearly as good as the finished product either... Not to mention the seats look incomplete without the logos. :)

Looks like two different sets of wheels and the carpert is really ugly.

As I recall the stripe is not chrome, it is paint and it denotes that it is a concept car.

Steve put the stripe on and it is brushed on. I have in light grey on mine (tape) :)

The "concept stripe"

That does look different/weird from the finished product. Anyone else notice "Marauder" on the rear bumper is not where it should be either? It's raised up higher.

I actually like those wheels. They look nice and meaty.

No fog lights either....I like the silver look on the gear shift and the flip up door infront of it but not the lack of the center pod guages....kinda like the lay out of the guage cluster....but what are the tow on the right....I see water temp, fuel, speed, tach, ?, ?.

IIRC the silver look was given to the CVLXS and we were given the "darkened" look.

Now that you mention it, I kinda dig the gauge layout. Resembles a Mustang cluster. Also, no shiny Mercury emblem on the steering wheel either. Hmm, it looks like battery, temperature, fuel, and oil.

whats the deal with the drivers side mirror??
whats the switch above the headlight switch too?

The switch above the headlight is the dash dimmer. My '95 CV had that.

I wish we'd gotten those white faced Cobra guages, plus the console guages.

I also like the air vents in the rear of the center console

whats the switch above the headlight switch too? That is a regular 95-02 CV/GM headlamp switch. As Jarod said the small switch on top is for panel dim. The production MM uses the 2003+ style headlamp switch.

You should also note the 95-02 power window switch panels and door panels.

the carpert is really ugly. The carpet looks funny because of the pictures, it is black.

The seats are standard 01-02 CV LX Sport.

Resembles a Mustang cluster.
It is a Mustang cluster. The gauges have a similar color to the Cobra instrumentation, but without the SVT logo on tach and boost gauge in place of volts of course ;)

IIRC the silver look was given to the CVLXS and we were given the "darkened" look. Yes, the CV LX SPort and LSE got the chrome treatment when they debuted for 2001 MY. The Marauder uses the same pieces, but left unchromed/black plastic, and a dot matrix treament on the shifter bezel.

I like the silver look on the gear shift and the flip up door infront of it but not the lack of the center pod guages....kinda like the lay out of the guage cluster....but what are the tow on the right....I see water temp, fuel, speed, tach, ?, ?The other two are volts and oil pressure.

I also like the air vents in the rear of the center consoleThe console, and shifter are sourced from a 98- Lincoln Continental, just like I retrofitted to my Marquis. Under the flip up door you see in the front is the ashtray and lighter. The cupholders are accessed by pressing the black panel in front of and below the armrest/lid.

The cubby they fabbed in place of the cupholder looks hideous IMO. My delete panel looked much better, and dare I say with better fit and finish? :D

The Marauder gauge pod also could have been made with this console setup, it works nicely (I installed one in mine)

You can see many more pictures of the Continental console and shifter installed in my car here: http://www.supermotors.net/vehicles/registry/7603/52879

This was a later concept of the Marauder;

Note the foglamps, with the CV front fascia with Mercury badged grille.

I have that car on video somewhere when MotorTrend looked at it in 2002 at SEMA.

The Exhaust tips are too small on the concepts and after seeing the marauder with the darkened headlights its obvious that it needs em'.... But w/e at the time the concepts came out they still made me take notice
