Well, down hill, with a tail wind, maybe.....

I had Dennis do a valet program on side two of my chip...what a riot...I hammer the throttle and take off....as soon as I hit 35,
Dump! That's it, the car settles into gear and won't go any faster. This program is too cool.
3 Position switch connected to a dual-program chip

CRUZTAKER - There are several other members of this board who have the same program. It is an excellent feature.

Are you talking about the key with the light-gray head?

NP, Sarge...

I thought Dr. Caleb was asking if the valet mode was the same as the valet key...marty said yes, so was questioning that, but you did a better job answering than I would have...especially as I don't HAVE the valet mode...

OK the manual did not make sense to me what is the valet key (grey head) for is it just a spare key or does it limit the car in some way?

Thanks

Ok, Ok, I read the first inquiry too fast. My bad, and I am sorry. I promise not to talk to clients on the phone and post replies at the same time.

I forgot that our MM's come with a grey valet key. All the grey valet key does is prevent a parking jockey from opening the trunk and the glove box. No further magic than that.

I was thinking about "a" valet key (like in a Corvette) as opposed to "the" valet key in our car. In some of the 'Vettes there was a valet key that limited the car's performance as the valet mode on the Reinhart Chip does with a flip chip.

RF you did not get the valet option on your programming. Mac and I did. Flip the switch and the car goes into valet mode and is performance limited. A nice feature.

Yes, it seems that Dennis may have changed the characteristics of this feature as Mac and I had a set up that was limited to something around 50 mph but still has the affect of preventing the parking jockeys from beating on the car. Now it seems that Dennis limits teh speed to a lower level. Like I said, a nice feature. I use parking lots in "the" City all the time and am always glad that I have a valet setting on my flip chip.

Sorry for the confusion my too quick response may have caused. I am going to bed now....

^^^What he said....deja vu^^^

Well, if Mac had not deleted his post, you would know......
It was a very good explaination as to what I did to achieve this.

Allow me to sum it up half as good as Mac did:

This mod HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH KEYS. It had ALL to do with my performance chip, a dual program, and a hidden switch.

As far as valet keys are concerned, go try the grey one on your car. I found that it unlocks the door, does NOT unlock the trunk, nor the glove box. It starts the car as it should. That's it, no extras, no specials, no gimmicks.....it's a basic limited opening function key in a grey suit.
