This is a question about a scratch next to my Fuel Door, For Jason (Auto Detailer)....What can I do about a 3 inch scratch that I have next to the fuel door? I stopped over at a gas station...I get out of the car and see a 3 inch stratch down to the bare metal...I already put the primer and paint on it...I saw you write in detail as to what to do for a small chip...What about a scratch like mine????:bows:

Rider90 - There may be others of us who also have unsightly scratches that may benefit from your knowledge. Unless your PM to another member is business, I would appreciate your answer also. Thanks.

Don,

No problem. I did not mean to withhold any info back from anyone, but the thread creator sent me a PM on the issue so I wanted to let you guys know it was taken care of and I didn't leave him hanging. This was my response:

It is very hard to say without seeing it, but if you went down to bare metal the same procedure should still apply. The bigger the chip or scratch, the more difficult it will be to make it look like nothing ever happened. Just for the heck of it, I would say stop by a nice body shop and get a free estimate on the repair and just think about it. I only suggest that because it sounds like one whopper of a scratch. If you did not want to go the route of the bodyshop, using my method should bring out some good results. Good luck to you,

Jason
