Hey Dennis, how's it? Listen, you installed my 3000 TC, 4.10, tune, and exhaust in my Marauder last year. It's awesome and I love it! Now it's time to look into getting my Mach 1 tuned. It's an auto so I'm thinking 4.10s, 3000 TC, and a tune. Well I was contemplating taking it to some one local just so I would not have to drive so far and he emailed this quote:
"Got some information on Torque converters 11” 2250 Stall $$$ Shipped & the 10” 2400-2600 Stall for $$$ Shipped However after talking with the our transmission people he says you need to have the valve body recalibrated, we can remove it, ship it to them, have it modified & sent back with the converter that would run $$$ Shipped..& you need a better transcooler $$ Shipped.. Our labor on installation would run $$$ with cooler installed, that would include shop supplies transfluid, etc."
The Mach 1 is my toy car, driven maybe 400 miles a month. I said I was modding it for a modest increase in straight line performance, so why has he suggested such a low RPM stall? A better transcooler? That seems unneccasry to me, because the Marauder didn't recieve an upgrade and I drive it every day. And what is this about recalibrating the valve body? Can you shed some light on all this?
In all honesty I'm going to bring the car to you, but this guy has me confused. I thought I had a good understanding of the TC and this transmission.
Thanks,
Bryan

When we did this the car, it was brand new. We installed a Vortech S trim with after cooler with an AFPP Cobra tank and pumps. This car is still in SC owned by Andy Shaw of Andy Shaw Ford.

Here is a shot of the engine compartment.

This car has a Mach 1000 stereo I did not want to butcher the trunk for the battery relocation kit. So I installed the coolant reservoir in the left front fender well.

With the inner fender well liner in place it cannot be seen at all.
Now after changing the Twin Cobra pump assembly out, we strapped the car on the Dyno. For our first pull to 5k to make sure we had enough fuel on the second pull the car made. 455.6 RWHP and 408.9RWTQ with an 11.0/11.5 AF, I feel this is a bit much so I pulled three degrees of timing and the next pull it made 465.4 RWHP and 441.4 RWTQ. So I pulled three degrees more, and the car made a finale number of 471 RWHP and 411 RWTQ with a total of 14 degrees timing this is as much as I have seen on a stock motor, the car has LTH and X pipe. http://web.iwebcenters.com/reinharta...hxpipe.jpg.JPG (http://web.iwebcenters.com/reinhartautomotive/images/session/00-00-1079748870-mach1lthxpipe.jpg.JPG)
Tomorrow I am going to add 5% to 8% more fuel putting the AF in low 11's Hopefully bringing the RWHP closer to reality.
