Anyone riding on Goodyear EAGLE F1 GS-D3 tires ?
The reviews on Tirerack are phenomenal !
They have a 235/50ZR18 size, but for the rears, I'd have to look at the actual circumferences.

The problem is I don't recall those being in rear sizes unless you widen rims, like 295/45/18 was the available size, unless they've released more.
There is a 255/45/18 size but that IMO is too short for the rear.
A good option for widened rims perhaps.

The Eagle F1 255/55ZR18 is the closest size for the rear.
The height and width almost match the KDWS.
It is off about +.5" on diameter and +.5" wider.
They can fit on a 7" - 9" wide wheel. Our wheels are 8.5" wide.
KDWS max out on an 8.5" wheel. They fit 7" - 8.5".
Besides, we could use the extra rubber in the rear...
Eagle F1 255/55ZR18
10.4" wide x 29.0" diameter.
T/A KDWS 245/55ZR18
9.9" Wide and 28.5" Diameter

Cool I didn't see that size last I looked, that should work.
My rear KDW2s are that size.

Those were available on the Lightning's I believe in all years of production. They don't last too long though unfortunately. *Edit, I believe they are the F1 GS EMT's instead.

Any specific reasons why ?
The reviews for them over at Tirerack are pretty convincing.

I put them on last summer. Love 'em so far but didn't get too many miles on them last year. Winter came early:) .
First observation is that they are not as "sticky" as the Bridgestone Pole Position I had before; they are a little harder, which explains the longer life expectancy than the Bridgestone Pole Position.
I have a tuner a corrected the tire size. There should be some pictures in my gallery if you are interested, otherwise, I'll post some soon. Spring is almost here.
Good luck,

An alternative to tire rack is 1010tires.com. They have a very neat tire size calculator that will compare different sizes and let you know if they are a safe switch. All the tire parameters are shown and according to your info there is only a 1.3% difference which is acceptable. It 's found in the tech section.

I went to the Kuhmo web site and did a search and they don't list a 255/50-18 for any of their tires. They do list a 255/55-18 in an Exsta STX which has kind of a goofy tread pattern. Can you double check the size? Where did you buy them? What about a matching front 235/50-18?

The Goodyear F1 that came on the Lightning is 295/45-18 and it works good on the widened rear rims. I was satisfied with them, but they are a different tread pattern from the rest of the F1's so I went with Nitto since I could match front & rear tread patterns. Glad I did it, I like the Nittos better.

IMO 1010tires.com is outrageous. They have some of the most bizzerk pricing around.
