As some of you know, my MM recently kissed a guardrail.
We will be replacing the grille, bumper cover, front header, and left energy absorber.
The repair will be done by us, and parts have already been ordered and received.
My question:
What procedures/products should I insist upon with the paint process of the bumper cover and front header?
Any suggestions are appreciated.
Thanks, Jim

Most people will insist that the paint for the bumper cover be mixed with a flex agent. I have never used it on any of the covers I repainted and never had issues. The important thing is that a good adhesion promoting primer is used on the cover.

Thanks Gents, could you elaborate on Flex Agent?

Flex makes paint not crack on a part that MAY flex.

A bud had a Mustang bumper repainted. No Flex added. Less than a year later.....crack central!

If you take it to a "good" shop....they will know what is needed where! Do you have anyone to recommend a "good" shop in your area???

PS - Personally....I would get a Badgeless :D

KJ, I live out aways from the metro Jax area, but plan on asking my MM brothers when I meet them for breakfast next weekend for suggestions.
As far as badgless, I like my Carmotorsports badge too much not to replace it on the new grille...anyone need 2 yes 2 waterfall badges???

I've seena bit of Mills work, Jim. Let him take your bumper cover like Terry did before. It'd be worth it.

I'd have to disagree...... I have a body shop locally that can paint circles around what comes out of the factory.

I have personally been involved, helped and mixed paint for a paint job that WHOOPS FACTORY BUTT! :flamer:

You all knew I'd say it sooner or later! It's a paint thread after all! :D
