Breadfan did some pretty extensive research on tire combos for the Marauder. Information is posted here >>>> http://www.neuralimpulse.com/maraudertires.html
Hope this helps ..... if so ... thank Mike.

I'm contiplating three types right now. Yokohama AVS S/T( not to be confused with their ADVAN S/T), Toyo Proxes S/T and just found Falken Ziex ST/Z-01.
Toyos and the Yokohams come 255/45/18 and 255/55/18 and are V rated while the Falken Ziex ST/Z-01 come in 235/50/18/ and a 255/55/18 both are W rated.
All three of these are SUV/Light Truck tires.

Beware of the Falken tires. Sidewalls on Falkens don't appear to be all that strong from what I've heard.
The ST/Z04 tires have been reported as very squishy on a big car, might not be the same tire you are looking at but I would beware IMO.

I also spoke with one of their technicians this week about the All Season capability. He said it is rated as a M&S tire. Though he did say that due to it's fancy tread he wasn't really sure how well it would do in deep, heavy snow.

OK, well, in that case you should be OK, but I just wanted to caution that some have reported Falken tires to have issues with sidewall strength. Being an SUV tire I think that'll help out.
If you go for it, please let us know how they work. Honestly without being able to test, it's hard to be sure, sometimes I go off of folks past exerpeiences, even if they are for different tires. Probably not the best way to do something, but Falken hasn't sent me a free set to get my opinion. :)

For what it's worth. I had the 255/55R18 KDW2's with stock wheels
(rear) and they were light years ahead of the KDWS as far as tread life and traction.

I have KDW2's all the way around, OEM size up front and 255's rear on stock wheels, Superior on Wet/Dry pavement to OEM's, superior wear. I have about 25,000 miles on rears, wearing evenly and thread is less than half gone.
I have about 60 passes at the track on them and if you look at my sig. you will see my 60' time. There are folks with drag radials with worse or same 60' times so I give the tire a thumbs up.

A couple days ago I just ordered a new pair of rear KDW's for the rear and they should arrive by Tuesday. The fronts appear to have some life left, currently with 22,000 miles on them. I'm now wondering if I'll receive KDW's or KDW2's. Can you physically tell them apart and would there be any problem running different tires front and back?

I have been running with the KDW2s for two years now, 18000 miles later they are still a great tire. These things are 100% better than the OEM KDWSs. Now if there is snow on the road, driving the MM with KDW2s in that stuff is like inventing a new ride at your friendly neighborhood amusement park...THE RIDE IS DEFINITELY A SQUIRRELLY ONE. But with DRY/WET conditions those tires are like duct tape on the road.
Since reading this thread below, I've been running at 38PSI and have not had any wear problems.
http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/showthread.php?t=16256&highlight=tire+pressure
The URL below goes to the TIRE RACK page showing you what the current KDW2s look like:
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=BFGoodrich&tireModel=g-Force+T%2FA+KDW+2
Bottomline, it's your choice to ponder the advice that you have asked for in this thread, purchase what you want,...and have FUN WITH YOUR MM.

My car will be 5 years old in June and I have 29,000 miles on my front original tires. I just put a some KDW's up front yesterday. I'm just trying to stay stock.
There have been some posts regarding old tires breaking down when put to task?

I'm really just worried about the rears right now.....I've been checkin these out.....

I do not want to have any abs/tc issues and I'm not sure if I can get away with using these on the rears
I also want tires that have that lip on them that protects your rims from possible curb rash, and I cant tell whether these have that

Totally different tire cannot confuse, and you cannot get the OEM size for the rears on the KDW2, they would be 255's instead of the OEM 245's.
If you ordered KDWS you will recieve the tires that came with the car.

For Seattle, Washington, you would want to stay with the KDWS.
KDW2 is more of a Summer Tire than All-Weather...

An alternative matched set could be the Yokohama ADVAN ST. It's a ultra hi perf summer suv tire but only W speed rated. They have the fronts,, and a rear 255/55/18 which I believe is within acceptable specs for an optional size. You can plug the numbers into a neat tire size calculator at 1010tires.com. I think the overall dimensions are about 1.3% different which is considered acceptable
