Found a wonderful 03 MM BLUE with 18K miles on it in California. Located thru CarMax. Did the research, background on vin, etc. Everything looks great. Spent my transfer fee, told it would ship Friday, March 2nd. A call on Monday the 5th revealed them telling me they never said that, it was due to be shipped Thursday the 8th. Of course, a call on the 8th confirmed it DID NOT ship on the 8th, supposedly due to go out on the 9th. I'm going completly nuts waiting for this beast. Any suggestions? So far i'm considering stasus (spelling?) or checking in for a drug induced coma. DOH !

What is your shipper telling you is the cause of the delays?
Who did you use for this move?

Congrats on finding a low mileage Blue MM and welcome :welcome1: to the MM.Net.
I waited about 30 minutes for mine after all the papers were signed and the dealer was giving her the once over. That was long enough. ;)

I'd check that car real good when it comes in. They may have screwed it up and are fixing it. Calling a "repair" a "delay"
knine
03-11-2007, 10:21 AM
Lets see if I get all these>>>>
The delay, if it is that goes something like "when they get enough to ship, full truck, then they come this way. It is apparently some private company that CarMax uses.
As for the money back....I'm going to make a lot of noise, but they did say it would be here in 21 days. I did ask to fly out and drive it back (like I did when I found my 60 el camino- flew to Texas), but they IMMEDIATLY said a big NO to that. Strange. Probabally for the best though, keep the miles for my own enjoyment, not transport. Besides, I think I would probabally cheesed off a few troopers between there and here.
Thanks on the welcome, I appreciate it. I really think BLUE is the best color (that ought to get a few comments-- DOH!). Ironically, I really wasn't looking for a MM right now, but when I saw this Beauty ..........and the mileage???, I couldn't wait (especially for the price :) -SWEEEEEEEEEEEET).
As for checking the car over real good, 10-4. I think stupidity is the rule of the day here on their part, not malevolance (I wish this thing had a spell check).
I have a dodge durango that I put a few bucks into back in 01, so I can't wait to make this baby wake up a little. Bought the durango after a Marquis I had (beautiful dark burgandy with red interior) was shortened a few feet by a 63 Ford Fairlane (while I was moving). Got hit in the rear by a DUI doing atleast 70 in a 35mph zone. If it wasn't for the driving schools I've had, I'd be worm food right now. I rotated clockwise into oncoming traffic, but with the skills and God as the real driver, I pulled it outta my ass. Had to love the oncoming drivers statement that was about to make chunky salsa outta me "the car was coming at me sideways, then just "stepped" outta my way". She was more shaken then I was, and I had the concussion and all.
Thanks again group.

very nice, waiting is impossible.
at work my co-workers were referring to it as my "seven day waiting period"
then the day before I left, it was Marauder's eve, then when I returned it ws Marauder-fest. (until it was hit, then partys over...)

OK, folks, lets entertain Knine while he waits for the elusive Blue. OK?
Top Reasons Why Carmax Won't Ship The Blue Marauder To KNine:
1. They lost it.
2. They wrecked it.
3. Jack Bauer needs it right now, it's a matter of national security.
4. Check Norris accidentally roundhouse-kicked it.
5. Someone disguised it with a Landau roof. Can't find it now.
6. Can't find it cause someone painted it lime green. And installed lambo doors.
7. Can't find it cause someone painted it burnt orange.
8. Can't find it cause someone painted it white. Police mistook it for their own and it was damaged during a Pitt Maneuver.
Keep the list going!

Checked today, they "confirmed" it's in transport. I "confirmed" i'm going insane. Just for grins i tromped my police interceptor crown vic (work car) last night, just to get the feeling of that gutless wonder.......gawd I can't wait for the 302 hp. The vic? 2001, 2nd motor, 70K, 3rd transmission........and we don't pursue. The only decent thing is that it top ends at 138 w/o lights on the top (thery're inside), which, because of the area I have, I get to see top end all too frequently. Thanks for the entertainment, I'm going to go count spots on my Dalmatians to pass the time. I CAN"T WAIT!!! UHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

This is not unusual for motor carriers of property and or vehicles. They won't head to a certain area until they can do it at a profit. Did you get a copy of the move contract or just pay the dealer to do it? The motor carrier may already have you car and that is the reason they don't want you to come and get it....
I cant wait to see an MM with California Emissions.

Um, that top end on the POS CVPI you drive? When the time is right, you may want to think about a swap of the driveshaft from said POS to NEW BLUE. That shaft is, most likely an MMX, or similar high performance unit, and is something you'll want on NEW BLUE sometime in it's future. When NEW BLUE arrives check out the drive shaft, because it may have been swapped out, by now. It's top is ~ 117 before the twisty vibration stuff starts. There are numerous threads about it. Dennis R has swapped out all the ones that are in service for the Florida HP. ;)

Still waiting, several hours now. This has turned into a comical situation. The only saving grace is that there's a Blue MM with 18k waiting for me at the end. uuhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Congratulations on your purchase! Is this Carmax located in Orange County? I remember doing a search a while back out of curiosity and finding a blue one.
Just a little FYI, the Marauder is a 50-state emissions vehicle (mine being a NJ car and then bought & driven in FL). This means all of them are built with the same equipment and calibrations.
Welcome, enjoy the ride.

Update. Got to see Blue, Drive Blue and paid for Blue today. She had a few minor scratches, but they said they would take care of them, so I left her there tonight. She's supposed to be ready tomorrow. Plus: She's got the 6 cd changer in the trunk. Minus, Light Flint interior instead of all Grey (I was hoping for the grey). Should have my first road tale in a couple of days and pics to follow as well. My next day off is March 25th, I'm looking forward to it, going on a long drive to nowhere. (P.s., knew about the emissions thingy, thanks though).

Once you own it, you need to spend some time with it. Drive it, change the oil, wax it, stare at it, crawl under it, stare at it some more.... with a dash of your own personality, the name will be revealed.

18K for an 18K mile car? Dang. I'm jealous...paid 18,700 for my 2003 Silver MM with 42K miles last November...sounds like you got a hell of a deal.

O.K. UPDATES: Have ordered about 1500.00 worth of toys, (spoiler, trunk organizer, godshead logo's for rear and steering wheel, grille for badgeless conversion, ss inserts, embroidered trunk lid inside cover, rear molded splash guards to replace the flat ones on it, and a few more little things). Had her up on the rack, "Ollie" kept her bone stock, nothing unusuall at all. Put a new set of rear tires on her after I fracked up and destroyed the right rear (low pressure), pulled out of the garage and ran it down the road....DOH! Oh well, now I can have that full size, regular spare, just working on gettting another rim.
Ollie is the origional owner from California. Must have only drove BLUE on Sundays to and from Church. ;) So far, I've named her BLUE. She's a sweet lady and gets a lot of attention on the road. Just can't decide if I want to smoke or tint the windows. Maybee neither. HMMMMMMMM
