Jason,
What can I use to clean sticker residue off of my trunk lid? I peeled the dealer name sticker from my MM and now I have residual mess. I was thinking rubbing alcohol...but I don't want to turn one mess into two or three messes or damage the clear coat/paint.:help:
Thanks in advance for entertaining this Q:beer:

Goo Gone works for me. I'm sure other members will have other options. I've recently used OOOPS to remove tint glue from my F150 windows and that stuff is real quick and good just afraid to use it on paint.

Good ole Naphtha (Lighter Fluid)......Best universal solvent ever and WILL NOT hurt the finish!!! After all of the goo is removed (along with ALL wax) simply rewax and fergedaboudit!!!:bows:

Paint Prep "PreKleeno" is the same (Naphtha) and works well too but expensive!!!

Note: Pine Tar......Rubbing alcohol will remove ASAP.....even dried on stuff!!!

I use WD-40 to remover Sticker Goo. Just make sure you re-wax the area that it touches

Denatured alcohol and a terry cloth (no other) rag. The DA liquifies the glue while the terry 'twisties' wrap it up with each wipe.
Soak the rag to almost dripping, wipe and turn the rag, wipe and turn, wipe and turn, Daniel-San!
Rewax the area. Waxa-on, waxa-off.

Why the h3LL do dealers put those things on the back of cars anyway? I guess someone convinced 'em that it is a wise marketing investment. :bs:

It's about time we start charging dealers who put those stickers on "unasked" to fork over a dollar a day for advertising space. :D Or make 'em remove it to your satisfaction before accepting delivery.

It is just that. Cheap (just the cost of the emlem/sticker) advertising. They also do plate frames and front plates that lucky for the dealer, the lazy/unaware consumers leave on! I say charge 'em!!!!!

No vehicle I have purchased from a Dealership has left the Lot w/ their sticker or plate frame :D

I always ask them to remove them, or knock $5K off the final price :D

Same here. If it's on when I go to pickup the car I refuse to sign until they take it off.

There were (are) three Ford dealers in Charlotte and each one SCREWS a logo on the metal of the trunk (with plated screws that rust) when ALL cars are unloaded!!! :argue: :shake:

The logos are all so different that the holes must be repaired buy a competitor that may take it in trade so several hundred bucks are deducted......usually forcing the customer to go back to the original dealer to trade!!!:bs:

I watched them unload one of my cars years ago and almost had to get into a fist fight with the guy in charge of putting them on......He finally relented when I told him I WOULD REFUSE THE CAR AND CONTACT FORD WITH A COMPLAINT!!!

My Marauder was to get a front Dealer plate and I stopped that as well and threw the bracket in the trash!! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!:mad2:

I will advertise if asked but not without my permission!!:shake:

I refuse to buy a car with it. I won't negotiate it. they take it off or no deal.

Even though I told the salesman that I wouldn't take the car if it had a dealer sticker on it - and he understood - I still found myself standing at the back of the car "convincing" the kid with the sticker in his hand it would be in his best interest not to apply it. But while this is going on another grunt punches two holes in the front bumper cover to mount the front license plate bracket. Son of a b#*ch !
