I just went to the track and did a 14.1 3 times in a row and then did a 14.2 to end the night. While talking to some friends it was stated to me that there was no way I had a stock TC and did those kind of times.
I am the second owner and the original owner was a salesman that traded it in at 71k miles. The mystery part of all this is that when I got the MM it had a parts breakdown of the trans in the glove compartment, but the dealer only told me that the front shocks were changed. I have gotten under the MM and looked into the access hole on the trans and it appears that the TC is the same color as a stock converter.
So my question is, Is there a method to see what stall TC is installed in a MM?

It's kind of funny you mention this, where did you buy your Marauder if you don't mind me asking? I test drove one that had the transmission parts breakdown in the glove box and on the test drive on the highway it did not shift into od it just hung at like 3-4k miles we put it in neutral and then back into drive and I think it finally caught it was weird though. Your time is believable, in the MM&FF 2 ton shootout I remember a Marauder with only 4.10's and a chip ran a 13.9

Your time is right. I ran a 14.19 with only 4.10's, a DR Diablo chip, and a K&N replacement panel (consistant 14.20's). I think you can easily bust into the 13's with your current combo.

That may have been the same car, I remember they had two but I don't remember which one did this. One was an 04 with Cobra Badges the other was an 03. Both black, I think I recall the 03 having something along the door and quarter panel.

That's the one, well the 03 that is, with a small dent in the rear door that was supposedly done at the dealership. The 04 that I missed came with a tuner as well. The 03 had a lot of miles on it but was in pristine condition, so now I'm up to 105K miles and it can do 14.1 in a quarter with a few minor upgrades. Not to shabby for a MM long in the tooth. My only regret... Rock Chips:mad2:

I also have this thing shifting at about 6500 RPM's at WOT, So no tranny problems here.

Black,

Just do a brake torque (don't let the pedal up to let the rears turn over)and see how far the R's go before the engine feels as though it wants to stall. You will need to hold the brake hard, even set the parking brake and hold the pedal. Should be around 2500???

I think the 2004 models are a higher stall than 2003....

On a comical note: have you ever tried to keep your foot on the gas and apply the break and the emergency brake? Other than looking a little spastic in the drivers seat I couldn't accomplish this with success due to the emergency brake not wanting to stay down while in drive. But I won't give up so easily.

After thinking about it for a while, some friends and I came up with, Maybe it was true about the trans because how else would I get an 03 Marauder with a trans that felt brand Spanking new, unless it was rebuilt or replaced. Then how would a dealership sell a 03 with 71K miles on it and having tranny problems. They then would have to fix it or replace it and then not say a word about the repair work that was done.

Thanks for the food for thought.

My PI torque converter is a 9" I believe, the stock one is 11", should be easy to tell the difference.

Just pull and plug the vacuum line to the ebrake release for the test... The auto release, I think, went away in late 03 or early 04 production

If it was repaired they may have used the upgraded 04 TC that has a 2400rpm stall speed.

Exactly, that will show your true stall speed.
