Get your tires hot, Hold the brake on the line, spool up your convertor, Release the brake, hope the tires hold and you dont jump the light.

Turn OD OFF!
Brake TQ the tires a bit...Get them a little warm.
If you got stockers....you ain't gonna do much :D
When you get to the tree: Hold the brake down, and push the gas to bring the RPM's up to about 2000. When the lights drop, let off the brake, and MASH IT!!!!
Good Luck!!!

All I can add to this is to not wait for the green light. As soon as you see the last yellow....GO!

If it's your first time out to a particular track, I'd recommend you watch the first few rounds to see how the track officials and regulars do what they do. Things go quick enough when it's your turn - best to have a clue at what you should be doing.

Hmmmm......
I am not familiar w/ 1/8 mile times. What would this translate to for a 1/4 mile???
And...the RT was not THAT bad

The conversion factor is 1.51 - 1.57, depending on powet adders. For instance, a blower or turbo car back-halfs better so use a slightly lower index.
His time here with an NA set up would convert to roughly a 15.68 plus or minus a little bit.

Unless you're running slicks, go around the waterbox, then backup slightly to do your burnout.

My MM was the first auto I ever drag raced. Turn off the O/D, traction control (if you have it) and rear air suspension (it may or may not do anything but gives the car the nice weight transfer look off the line. I go through the waterbox, do a small burnout, roll up 6-7ft do a quick brake tq wheelspin to make sure you got all the water off. Creep up to the staging light, get the first light lit and then be ready to light the second yellow light, put your foot firmly on the brake, slowly put your foot on the gas until it feels like the wheels are going to break loose wait for that last yellow light to become lit, blink your eyes and mash the gas. Also just leave it in Drive and don't try to shift and you can try and see if removing the front driver's side headlamp to allow more fresh air in into the JLT.

Please everyone go around the waterbox and back into it to wet your tires, then pull out and do your burnout.:banana2:
The treads on your front tires will carry water on to the launch pad this will cause a potentially dangerous condition for the high hp guy behind you or slow down the process when the track crew removes the water.
It is a very safe sport. I have seen hard crashes partly as a result of losing it on the launch.
Thanks.
