Sorry if im annoying some of you with my constant marauder based questions:)
Ive been looking alot for marauders in NJ, and some i like, some are just ruined:shake:
I know that the 03's have the 300A and 300B. The A having the seprate clock and auto gas door. The B having the TCS :)
And from what i think ive heard, the 04's are basically a B and an A in one car.
SO my question is.... Do all the 04's have the traction control system? In my opinion this would be the main priority to find. If i need it, i can install the seprate clock and auto fuel door later. But TCS would be good for some winters in NJ (Like the 2" we got last night, roads were a mess even today) And if it goes to the back hills of PA, to get up those slippery hills.
So, are my thoughts correct? Or do i need to ask more Q's about finding the perfect marauder for me.
Cheers

Yes you are correct, all 2004 have TCS.
No need to install an extra clock the 2003 300b and 2004's have it in the radio.
Keep searching the good cars are out there!

How do you know that w/o having it:P
Plus i think i'd have a better chance of getting one stock
Stock = not as fast = parents not saying no
Theres a method to my madness.

It works better on dry pavement than wet. Trust me.
I drove the whole winter without it and never had a problem.
Good luck MM hunting.

Newark airport is crap.
I will second that. I have flown into Newark five times this year. I have had 4/5 delayed:bigcry:

I disagree. I like knowing TC is on when someone else is driving the Marauder. I also like it in the rain.
Considering the differences between the 03A/B and 04s, I'll trade the seat pockets, clock, locking gas door, etc for the TC and better torque converter.

I found my Marauder in NJ and its been very reliable. Plus the dealership had some of the nicest people working there. But, I wouldnt live there nor would I want to spend extended amounts of time there either.

If you are in the market for a Marauder. I saw Zack's "03" for the first time today in the flesh. It's a beauty. . . . and priced right for all the goodies on it. He just listed it for sale because he just bought the blue Marauder he always wanted.

I'm glad I have it on my Marauder, but I also have the seat pockets, clock, locking gas door, etc.
It's easy to turn off when you don't need it

Looked on auto trader again.
Found this
http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?car_id=214608928&dealer_id=76091&car_year=2003&model=MARAUDER&num_records=25&make2=&start_year=1981&keywordsfyc=&keywordsrep=&engine=&certified=&body_code=0&fuel=&search_type=used&distance=75&make=MERC&color=&min_price=&drive=&default_sort=priceDESC&max_mileage=&style_flag=1&sort_type=priceDESC&address=08850&advanced=&end_year=2008&doors=&transmission=&max_price=&cardist=43
Besides those ugly @$$ wheeles the car looks great. I think its one of those "precontended?" or whatever there called models, because i think i see the TCS switch, and i do see the seprate clock.
Care to chime in?

If you come across a 300A and it lacks the TC it can easily be intalled. My Marauder is a 300A. It originally came without TC. I bought the dash panel (which has the TC button) on E Bay for $40.00. I got the Traction Control Module (which replaced the normal ABS module) from the Ford dealership at a cheap price. For me at least, it was an estimated total of $600.00 (just $25.00 more than my Marauder payment.) All you have to do is replace the ABS module with the ABS/TC module. This can be found by locating the braking fluid resevoir and following the brake line leading up to your module. The module itself can be replaced by disconnecting the brakelines and wiring leading from the cars interior. The front button dash can be swapped by disconnecting two wire harness located behind it. Not really a chore. It will take you at most two hours, and this was my first attempt. The only thing I had to buy is a brake line which had a smaller screw head that fit on the original module but not on the TC module. This was solved easy by going to a junk yard and taking it off a Lincoln Towncar for $5.00. If you try to buy this from the dealer, they can only sell it to you with all the brakelines and it will cost over $400.00. After the installation, I checked it for brake fluid leaks. When I started my car after the installation the TC icon illuminated on the cluster and so did the TC button on the dash. You then have to get your brakes bled because of the loss of brake pressure. After which I tested it without traction control by peeling out on gravel. The module worked as expected, the ABS was applied and power was cut to the engine. I then tried it with the TC off and the car did a complete 360 and went all over the road. Traction Control helps. Since its a function that rarely or never has to be used, its considered a waste by some. But like I heard from another member "if it works once for you, then your investment has paid off."

That's interesting, some years back I asked if this could be dome, and no one really knew.
I'd have thought there may be a setting to be applied in the EEC as well, but I guess not.
I know the non TC cars do have he wiring already for the switch, as does (at least mine) the CVPI

When asked by Steve Babcock which MM was mine, I pointed to the Silver Birch, and told him it was that December build '04. He replied "Oh, you've got one of the good ones".
There was a transmission upgrade on all '04's, as well as cylinder head problem resolution. Also there was a run of black '03's with serious paint issues; many were repainted. There are threads concerning going WOT from 4th and the transmission dropping two gears, causing problems. The decided wisdom was to make sure the button taking the transmission out of O/D was pushed, first, before hitting "passing" gear. There are threads and posts explaining everything, and discussion talking about build dates and serial number runs.
All else being equal, I'd be looking for an '04 to avoid the worry and possibility of finding a "bad" one. :)

All 3 MMs listed here have good OASIS reports. However, I believe that the sales people at Northeast Lincoln Mercury are smoking Crack.

The 04 with the ugly wheels looks really good, only 11k miles i think? Just to much money.
I saw a red 04 with 54k miles that was like new, but 54k
