View Full Version : Pulled A Code?
I see threads where someone reports having pulled a code. Now on my old Cadillac you could push a couple of buttons (I think on the AC or something) and the code would come up on a display screen. Is there something like this on the MM, or do some of you have your own diagnostic computers or what?

Many of the hand held tuner/flash devices will read trouble codes.
I think that's what most people are using to 'pull codes'

What you could also use to pull codes is this:

You can mount it up in your dash and check out various information that is going on with your car at any given time. You can even pull codes while you're driving, good times.

P.S. I don't work for them, it really is nice.

Go to your local FLAPS and they will check the code, tell you what it is and clear it. For less than $90.00 you can get a code reader to do the same.
I have an XCal2 with a DR tune in it. Can I use this to read codes?
Also, a real stupid question: Are you looking for codes because a Check Engine light came on or something? In other words, how do you even know to look for a code?

Yep, if you have an XCAL2, just plug it in, go thru the menus and read the codes. Many check codes because of a MIL (Malfunction Indicator Lamp), but some codes don't turn the lamps on. Many, like you, will check for DTC's if there's a problem to be solved.
Good Luck!
