A few weeks ago I had my DTR parked on a angle down towards the left side so I could snow blow the driveway. The wife noticed that it was leaking gas. Lost about 2 gallons. I just figured it came out the overflow due to angle it was parked at. Since then I've noticed a drop in fuel mileage, but never saw any gas under where the car was parked. Same thing happened yesterday at not near as steep an angle. It did not leak much. The leak appears to be coming from the top left side of the tank. Due to back problems I can not climb under and look. Dealer wants me to run the tank down to 1/8-1/4 before they take a look. Anyone else have this? Any ideas? :dunno:

Did you have any holes drilled in the trunk to mount any equipment?

somebody drilled a hole in the tank installing equipment... or the gasket from the filler pipe to tank is leaking.... or the rollover valve is leaking....

No holes drilled for equipment. Service manager said "something" may have popped off. Maybe when I was hit in that area last September it loosened something???

What area were you hit in? Depending on where the damages were, they body shop may have R/I (remove/installed) the tank or at least the filler neck to gain access, and didnt reattach it properly. Thats my guess for the culprit since you said it was leaning to the left.

The car was at the FLM dealer I use for repairs last week to have this checked out. Its coming from the top of the tank. The good news is the shop manager determined that the emissions warranty will cover this. New tank ordered and will be installed later this week. :)
