I valet park part time and drove one... needless to say i fell in love! I am in search for this car of my dreams, and i will be driving one some day...
I need advice as to what to look for and what to look out for! is there a difference between the 2003 and 2004 model? whats a good price? tell me the story behind your marauder purchase. and tell me why you love this car so much... (as if stats and love isn't enough).

How far was that "valet" test drive?? ;) Just go get one now.
Most of us were drawn to the Marauder for different reasons. But it was that grin :D that was the real seller.
Here's some perspective on your question about "Why we love the Marauder" from July 2006 .... >>>> http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/showthread.php?t=28456&highlight=blackhawk

Bill,
Check out the classifieds, there are several great cars listed there.
As for what drew me to the Marauder. It was my answer to mid-life crisis!:D
I'm on my second one and wouldn't trade it for anything. (Well, on second thought, I might consider cutting a deal with Hotrauder for his "Fruit Punch"......;) )

I doubt another marauder will come through ;)
I will have to sell my 2004 dodge 1500 Quad-cab truck (4.7L, hard locking tonoue cover, etc...) I should be able to get 17,500- 19,000 for it, only 33K miles, well documented...
Does anybody know how i can sell it quickly?
I test drove a marauder for sale, want to buy it! only 30,000 miles, buy it now for 16,800!
I'm in love with this car!
reasons-
its 20cu. ft. my trucks 50cu ft. bed with tonoue cover
it fits 5 my truck fits up to 6...
dual power seats my trucks manual seats
my insurance would increase $2 a month!
ABS, traction control, stability control, side curtain air-bags...
and...
302hp, 318 ft. lbs., high stall converter with electronic locking AOD-E trans, 3.55:1 traction lock and 18" chromes wrapped in BFG rubber!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

you mean somebody actually let you vale his car? I usually drop off my date and park the car myself so long as the walk isn't too far. I still pay, but I own a security company and work many high class events. Let me just say, I don't trust the valet service.

after being a valet- I WILL NOT WANT TO EVER VALET MY CAR.
I treated cars well, only testing rental cars- and only a couple times. but, i have seen others go side-ways, burouts that left rubber for months, etc...
i do the same, drop off my girl and park... or park as far away as possible! she gets annoyed of course but its alright ;)
I'm out of Woodland Hills, ca. West los Angeles county area.

+1
I used to Valet for a hotel in Downtown Cleveland. You would take the car from the front of the hotel, then drive down into a parking garage. Thats when the fun begins. You have almost a 1/8 mile straight with a swooping turn that brings you into the parking area.
Burnouts, drag racing, and looking through peoples cars are the norm. I NEVER EVER Valet park my car.

Here's a pre-welcome to being a so cal marauder owner. Im in Long Beach and Im pretty sure there's a few more of us around.
This is a great site to get the 411 on these great cars. Sure, a few are smartassed but all in all a great bunch to discuss the car with. They know more about these cars than the dealers do.
If and when the time comes to modify, you will get some great direction and feedback!

You got it made. I'm in Valencia. (By Magic Mountain) and when I was looking about 60 days ago I found three in L.A. County. Bought one in the San Fernando Valley.
I just ran a search "Mercury Marauder for sale" and up they came.

Your in luck. I beleive Matt in Los Angeles wants to sell his. He posts in this forum . If not go to west coast marauders in this section. If you want a plain
stock one I know a fellow up in Ventura that has one for sale. He works on mine. Or if you like the silver ones I think there is one for sale in Pasadena. Let me know. I have phone numbers for the last 2.

2004 is definitely the best choice. The best 2004 Marauder is the one I own and you are in luck, because it's for sale! (see classifieds)
Why did I buy a Marauder? Well, I had lusted after one ever since I saw the prototype at the 2001 All-Ford Nationals in Carlisle. I was actually shopping for an F150 when I spotted the Marauder at the LM dealer. My wife said; "Go ahead and look at it. Get it out of your system". As soon as she saw the interior it was a done deal. The valets here in Vegas like the car, too.
Why do I want to sell it? Well... I do and I don't. I love the car, but our main transportation is our motorcycles, both for fun and commuting. The Marauder generally gets used one day a week when we go grocery shopping. It's way more car than I need and, as much as I love it, I sometimes feel guilty that I can't give it the attention it deserves. I haven't even bought a tune for it because there always seems to be something of a higher priority to spend my money on (like the 3rd motorcycle we added to our stable in January). So, if I find someone worthy who really, really wants a Marauder and can give it the home it deserves, I'll part with it. But I sure will miss the way it sparkles under the lights as the valet pulls it up to the front door at the Bellagio or Monte Carlo. "That's right, that's MY car!"
The Marauder is a distinctive car that you won't find on every street corner. People are always asking me what it is and complimenting the car, but what's even more satisfying is those who know cars giving their approval. It's been 3 model years, but those who know still respect the Marauder.

I test drove the silver one in Pasadena last week ;)
its a nice car, only 38k miles or so- but it has a salvaged title since it was stolen for the wheel centers and front end...
I would like either a blue or a black one, and the only option i would prefer is the sunroof...

i drove a marauder as a valet, it was the spark that fueled an inferno in my heart!
my girlfriend and all of my friends don't understand why i want "that ugly car" so much- "cause you don't... cause you don't understand liberty! you don't understand freedom!"-Ricky Bobby in Taladega nights
but then again- im 19... and my insurance is only going to increase $2 a month! :coolman:
